The hint he gave (and I don't recall if it was on ComputerEd's interview or the Trek Radio one) was that they had just been watching episodes related to "Contagion." That in itself narrows the focus down to 2 possible groups, though it could all have been a red herring, like communism.

Iconians and Romulans.... mmmm... and it would tie into the Gamma Orionis mission.

In his most recent interview he mentioned the Iconians would make an appearance at some point, but it'll be a ways down the road. He said to expect them to make small appearances until then. Not exact quotes.

Contagion was mentioned.
It feature Iconians and Romulans. I think hints would be dropped but not full-on confrontation with the Iconians.

It also could involve BOTH groups (similar to 'Contagion' <--- One iof the few decent episodes during TNG Season 2)
I have a feeling that the most likely outcome would be something to do with a piece of Iconian technology and a race to keep it out of the hands of all powers concerned. This is entirely speculation but that was somewhat the theme behind the Yamato's initial survey of Iconia and her subsequent loss with all hands after the Iconian virus crippled her systems.

Stahl mentions it in his most recent interview on Trek Radio. But does not elude to it's content.
That'd be nice. I miss the Romulans
I'm much more interested in getting dedicated end-game content than a FE I can play at Lieutenant
