That the last Engineering report was posted on November 15th. Wow, and we are 3 days away from January.

There used to be one a month.

What gives?

Dan Stahl was sick and that delayed the Engineering Report.

Also, the Cryptic devs all being off for the holidays for almost two full weeks (according to StormShade), probably has something to do with it as well.

Let the devs enjoy spending some holiday time with their families.

Not even the garden variety sick. (I'm in the medical field). He had medication prescribed and was still complaining about being fairly under the weather. Thats pretty icky (yes, that is a technical term). I don't blame the guy for not rolling out a new one.

Late November to January is not an unusual length of time for inactivity in many areas of industry. Sick is one thing, but let's remember to respect the workers' need for downtime and recreation.

    What gives, indeed.

Thats true. The real question, however, is not about "many areas of industry", but about this specific one. So perhaps those who play more than one MMO could describe this particular situation(holiday time Dev communication) in the others they are playing, whether it is better, worse, or about the same.

Wow, 2 weeks off. I can't imagine what that feels like.

I never take more than a week off at a time. In my line of work, being out for a week takes me 3 weeks to get caught back up. Hell, I spend the first 2 days after a week long vacation just getting through all of the Email I missed.

This also explains why I haven't noticed any Dev comments to current threads in a while. There are usually a few Dev comments every day.

    True that.
Does that mean I'm on a semi vacation for not having kids? (unless you count my man... Do boys ever grow up?)
