My review of STO

I'm pretty sure I speak for a significant amount of the forum community when I say that we are tired of these threads. Those of us who play the game do so because in some way we enjoy the game for what it is. If the rest of you don't like it, fine, that's your call. But don't make a thread about it here and try to urinate on our parade, because we don't care, let us play our video game and have fun. Go get a livejournal or do something a bit more constructive.

You don't care about these threads so much that you you made a thread about it?

Like I said in another thread:
I hate to say it, but player reviews seem so meaningless to me. I mean, one player will say they love it, another will say they hate it, but neither carries more weight than the other because they are just some average joe player. I dont always agree with professional reviews, but at least they have some sort of legitimacy.

I disagree with the OP, remember that not everybody plays the game at the same time as everybody else.

i am slightly bored of sto reviews but thats because i have seen so many. a new player has the right to voice his options now just as much as we did 10 months ago. their voice should not be crowded out because they arrived late to the party, as long as its a respectful post, its welcome.

of course no one wants the 'I quit and i hate sto and everything about it and i want the game to die because i personally hate it' threads, because they add nothing but if its good feedback then let people give their feedback, even if its negative. in fact even more so if its negative.

if you dont find the review helpful then dont post there.

telling people we dont want their feedback, especially from a fresh set of eyes, does not help the devs at all.

gotta love the people that claim they speak on our behalf........a bit selfcentered are we OP?

On that note, Im a grown man OP if I have an opinion I dont need you to voice it for me...i got fingers and I know how to type. I think I can handle that on my own.

I agree with the OP in principle, but he could've come about this in a slightly more diplomatic way. I also fully agree with everything Revo said.

Diplomacy is not a color I wear well.

In my 15 years or so in dealing with the Internet I have found one undeniable fact.

Most people run to the Internet to complain, not because they are happy. If your happy your off being happy, tralala. If you are disgruntled then you want to get on your soapbox and start yelling.

I count myself as part of the population that would like to get on a soapbox, but ultimately knows that no one cares so why don't I save my breath and find something more constructive to do.

I dropped serious gaming funds into the lifetime sub for STO and CO. I just can't seem to get back into it cause I load into wherever my ship is and sit there, watching the aft lights blink while I try to remember how to interface with a game that just has me instancing and soloing everything. Not very MMOish. I get more group action out of a L4D 3 bot session.

Oh boy, didn't they close the last topic like this?

And speaking of this topic, I play STO for one reason, I love Star Trek, so much that I am willing to overlook the bug's in the game. The game itself had a short development time before it's release compared to other MMOs and people should not expect it to be as "polished" as the other MMO's.

One thing Star Trek has proven so many times is that after a slow start things pick up, look at the shows, DS9, got better as it went along, as did Voyager. In the short time that I have played STO, it has in my opinion gotten better and I believe it will continue to do so.

Criticism = issues to be developed and worked on, the more problems pointed out the problems can be fixed, the more ideas raised the higher the potential for new game content. Feedback, good or bad, is data that can be used to create a better game.

    Long live STO

Oh, and these are my opinions:p
