Question about game for intended player.

I am looking to purchase the game this week after playing during the beta.

I was wondering if some kind person could clarify a few points for me.

I see that we can purchase an nx-01 retrofit from C-Store, this obviously would be a major choice for me, but what would happen to my other vessels, would i be able to store them in a station as i would not desire to sell these ships everytime i wanted to change from science to combat based ships.

Thankyou

You get a new ship every rank. You can have multiple at once. NX01 is a tier 1 ship.

you get more ship storage along the way also you start with two slots and wind up with I think 6 at va can’t remember the exact number. There’s a console at esd that you can use to look at all your ships and choose the one you want to fly.

as Zehra said the nx is a tier 1 or 0 can’t remember how they number them I keep thinking its 0 because it just made more sense in my head like that, either way it would fit into the category of the ship you start with. you can keep using it as much as you want but it will lack the improved slots of the later ships like being able to support more weapons, bo station and console slots.

I see, well right now i am downloading the client which will take an hour or so, if i may i would like to ask how versatile you are in using science and combat ships and how they fullfill their roles in supporting fleets with ECM and other projected effects and how you can interchange between these ships. Thankyou

Science ships do what they do very well.
I have been assisting tactical ships in fleet actions and it works out pretty good.

I bring down shields, disrupt subsystems, jam sensors etc etc and the tactical ship pounds torpedoes into 'em and they go BEWM!

So yeah, the dynamic between ship types works well.

I dunno anything about cruisers except they're huge and they look boss.:D

I can tell you that the cruisers are very fun to play. As far as interaction with other ships goes, I find myself healing up all the Tac's and taking a beating while I am doing it. They are about as nimble as a brick, though, unfortunatly. But really, the staying power of a cruiser combined with the weapon load they can carry, more than makes up for the lack of maneuverability (sp?) imho.

Good luck with the game :D

I'm a Science Officer, and i specialise in Healing. I blame 5 years as a Holy Paladin on Warcraft for that. I love circling the fight, topping up anyone who needs it and receiving the thanks later :) Keeping the rest alive to act as my Shield and Sword, with a Gravity Well here and there to spice up the action. And thats not to stay i don't get heavily involved too. It sometimes amazes me just how much damage i can soak up in the most chaotic of moments.

I recently started a Klingon Borg and went Tactical. I'm enjoying it but my mind is still very much in a healing mentality. I guess its one of those things that will always be the case with me.
