Starbases for Fleets

I don't know if this in game yet or if the Devs are working on this idea.
Fleets would be able to get small or big Starbases for members of 100 or more.
They can be placed in safe areas of Alpha Centauri.

This would be good for Sector Space where other Federation personal can also
dine and wine and craft their little hearts content.
And it can give other players a chance to find NPCs on the base so they don't have to
journey long distances to buy or bank equipment.
I know, I know this could take a lifetime to develop with so many things that the Devs need to finish.

:D

This was already talked about in multiple ask cryptics, forum posts and interviews.

Answer: It's one of those things they want to do. (Want a more complex answer find umm last months or the months before ask cryptic can't remember which)

If it ever does get introduced, it should be something worked for, and not just given to fleets of "x" members or more.

That is to say, smaller fleets should be able to get one, if they're willing to take longer to do it.

    I vote for...

Make a fleet with 5 members, get your own star base full with exchange, store/mail and crafting stations :D

    Just my opinion

Starbases need to be a bit more than just another alternate ESD or alternate Memory Alpha.

Gameplay ideas should precede adding another ultimately useless (but very pretty) interior.

if theyre going to add starbases, i really cant see them adding hundreds of starbases to the map, the entire map would be littered with them....I can see one of two things happening.

1.) A Sole Starbase (for each faction) is added somewhere along the Neutral Zone. Where each fleet has its own instance, by approaching the starbase your either given the option to join your Fleet starbase or go make a fleet and spend X amount of whatever currency they decide to use. Reason for this being in the Neutral Zone is so that the two factions can slug it out in premade raids on one anothers starbases. While the starbases would be destroyed in the raid, chances are Cryptic would do the same with the starbase as it has done with your ships. made it immortal.

2.) Gives the Fleets a choice of systems that are revamped to support another instance of a Starbase...Well probably see a choice of one floating above a planet or in an asteroid field. Certain star systems will of course be off limits to this such as the planets known to have starbases already. Not just K-7 or Sierra System but the number of systems during missions where it was observed.

Just what I think is the two very likely chances of how it will be handled.

But I dont see either of this happening until Cryptic figures out how they are going to revamp PvP and add in a bit of Open PvP. Which honestly isnt that hard to do.

If they are going to continue the war (hopefully bringing some more meaning to it) then obviously certian areas should be turned into warzones. Not just Eta Eridani but Psi Canis , Gamma Orionis and the Deferi Sector block (cant remember the name now). Reason being??? All of those areas are accessible by both factions...thats already built into the game. What they can do is have multiple *KEY* battles (an odd number so theres never a tie) in each sector block in which the one with the most wins takes control of the sector. Of course you can opt out of being flagged for PvP and just go about your business, but if you choose to flag yourself, you run the risk of being attacked (opening up DSEs to not just NPCs but both factions). The reward would be higher amounts of marks rewarded and gear that is slightly better then others in the game in certian areas (like particular equipment/weapon perks being bumped up slightly but not by much).
