So having done every mission in the game, both Fed side and KDF, having one VA and leveling up 3 others... I wondered why I found myself starting to log in only to choose another game to play.
And I figured it out.
It's the grind I dread. Sure I've got a Fed Tac VA and can lead teams on all the STFs, yes I want to see my RA2 Fed Sci get to VA and also learn the STF's from that perspective. I also want to get my Klingon up and try them on him.
But I dread the 5 hour non stop stints of defends or explores that might lead to a mission, only to have another 5-6 hour stint after that before another mission.
I'm tired of it, and frankly that one thing is why I choose mid log in to stop and play something else. It's also why I haven't gone ahead and shelled out for the lifetime subscription... because I feel deep down inside that it won't be a game I'll be playing in 2 years.
So what I would change to spell it out clearly...
I would grant FAR more xp for story mission completions on secondary characters... perhaps as much as twice or more... so that you could level up a character just by playing through the storyline missions.
That's my two cents, I don't talk much, I'm not hugely popular around here, so I don't expect anything to change, I just wanted to have my voice heard.
There's only around 50 episodes in the game on the Fed side (50-55 IIRC). That would effectively mean 1 level of XP per episode. Most people would be at level cap in a week at that rate.
If I could change one thing it I would get rid of all the people who complain that the game isnt fun yet, they continue to post and play and annoy everyone.

That has already come to pass. Most of people who complained that the game isn't fun have already left.
If I could change one thing about STO I would make it fun to play.
You know, feedback is one thing, but a comment like the above provides zero useful information other then:
"I don't think the game is fun...make it fun"
The prob;lem is, you don't state ANYTHING as to what would make the game enjoyable again for you (and I assume you liked something of what you played at one point since you're a LTS.) If you just want to pop in a thread and do a snarky one liner, thinking some people will denote your 'cleverness', that's fine I giess; but if you really want to see the game improve you might want to site some specifics; and provide a bit more substantive feedback.

I have repeatedly asked for improvements in game play and they don't happen. I have posted with much detail and there are still the same problems with game play as it was at launch. Nothing has changed they have made some improvements to the game but over all for me the game hasn't improved.
There still is no real end game. Most people ignore the ground game. There is one space PVP map the players use that was boring after a few hours. They broke the fleet actions and they are empty. The game still offers no real challenge.
Game continues to be fun for me but I've really taken my time leveling up characters. I have 1 VA, 1 Capt 3 and a LT Cmdr 8. I liked grinding the diplomatic missions to get to the cap of FDC, something which I'll repeat on my other characters as well. Hunting for crafting stuff, etc. It has most of the some grind-able things that many mmos have. Granted people complain about the 'grind' in any mmo, seems like alot more QQers in STO though than in other games I've played and to be honest, I don't see why.

I don't see a problem with that for secondary characters... obviously not primary characters... but secondary ones sure.
Content is a huge problem in the game, and it's one that will inevitably be fixed in the long run... not that we'll really see much effect it'll never be enough content to keep us busy.... we've already played through it.
Newbies to the game one day however will think that it's loaded with content. And we'll chuckle and say "back in the day".

What's the point of rushing a second alt to end-game? When you get there you still have nothing to do but the same grind over and over that you have for the first character.
As someone who has 11 alts, 6 or 7 of them Admiral/General, I'd rather redo the leveling then spend the rest of my gaming-life doing the same end-game grind 2-3 hours a day. Plus there's 200+ missions sitting in the Foundry that will basically mean new alts will never have to do any of the original missions again, unless they want to.
Frankly I've never been interested in the mid game, because in most games the content is not really enjoyable, or copious enough to make it worth while.
It's possible that the Foundry can provide some measure of enjoyment. And I'll no doubt spend a good deal of time making stories and testing them... but it's not here yet and I haven't seen anything of it.

Right...
You are aware the best changes to a game are due to the people voicing their concernst. Sorry. If you feel their posts have zero merit then your post is equally pointless. You should be happy that people are voicing their wish for change. Not like its going to upset your game. You are already easily satisfied. If they put more effort into the game and making it more Trek then adding more items to the C Store we may get on the right track.

Well he is right. Cryptic may we have more fun? Please? Less C Store content. More Trek content. I'm paying $180 a year for development that seems to only make non trekkies happy. Or just easily satisfied individuals.

Ive agreed with every one of your posts. I also agree that the Foundry may be the only thing keeping me in this game. Until this fabled Genesis project surfaces. The real one.

While I agree that following the main storyline quests should be one way to level up to maximum level without requiring to go and do repetitive explore or encounters, I do not think that increasing the XP is the way to go. Instead I would rather an increase in missions, that don't need to change the storyline but be standalone missions in the same front.
And while their at it, I wouldn't mind a revamp of the current missions to add a bit more variety as seen in Weeklies.

Agreed - I have quite enjoyed the new episode arcs, but overall the game still isn't very "trek" or fun.
No wonder so many people left - that, combined with the treatment of the community by Cryptic/Atari.
