The biggest problem that I have seen OVER and OVER again with ground combat in Fleet Actions and STFs is that most of the players in Star Trek Online are NOT used to playing in groups, have poor teamwork skills, are poorly outfitted (equipment-wise) and for some generally do not know how to play the game in a ground combat situation.
I blame the state of the game for this. Instead of using other players to complete missions, people get to use 4 NPCS with so-so AI all of the time to complete the missions for them. They run 4 engineers with turret skills and sit in the back and watch the bridge officers kill everything.
Fast forward...now its time to interact with real humans in similar situations and they absolutely suck at it. I see people using the wrong kits under the wrong circumstances. I often see players hanging in the back of the group...afraid to be in the front or the middle of the action. Call for help? What's that? More than often, I see players show up to these engagements with NO SUPPLIES. They possess little to no heals or shields, no food or tribbles.
These people suck the "fun" right out of the game and turn it into work. You know...the thing that most of us are escaping from when we login to STO.
While these videos are extremely helpful, I think until the player base gets better at playing with other people, no amount of strategic help can cure that ill.

wrong thread for this rant... and way to go generalizations

Most of the points you made in this post are exactly why we make the STO video's we make.
Im not sure why this was posted in this thread buy my advice to you is to have anyone you do STF's with watch our vids along with any other useful help you can provide.
just watched your videos today with a pen and paper. Jotted down alot of notes for the cure. Can't wait to put them to good use. Thank you for taking the time to do something like this!

Your cure video would be more helpful if you spent some more time on each of the gates. Perhaps you could make a new video detailing how to defeat each one?
I've been doing that mission for months, at least one time for over 6 hours, and people quit because of the gates. They seem to get only a cursory mention and only the first gate, the one that doesn't require help is the only one shown.
I hope you will consider a new video. Otherwise, awesome videos and thank you.
Shield never dropped on the individual corners even though we uploaded the virus. Is there another step to take after uploading the virus to kill the shield generator in the corner?
