When the Aegis Shield visuals are active, the bloom effect blinks all over as I pan the camera. It is mostly visible on nacelles, or large lit areas. It only seems to happen when panning around my ship, as the ships in the background (also with Aegis Effect) seem to look fine. Zooming out considerably alleviates this. With the effect turned off, I still get normal Bloom Effects with no blinking.
I have a Nvidia GTX470 with latest drivers. DXDiag below. I rolled back to the 19x drivers and have the same issue. When I turn bloom on low, all is well, but with a considerable loss in visuals, obviously.
Anyone else having this issue?

This only seems to occur with the Aegis kit (Shield and Deflector) is equipped.
I have submitted a ticket ( 1018171).
I am currently using an Alienware M11x
Nvidia GT 335M
4GB Ram
Intel U7300 @1.3Ghz
The issue only occurs with the aegis set and doesn't occur any other time.

i had assumed the borg one was intentional but when i saw the aegis too then i realised it must be a bug.
Seeing as I use the Galaxy R and a few other ships with nacelles, as does lots of others in game, I would hope that this gets a priority fix.
It has to do with the bloom intensity. I usually have my bloom set at 100%, I love how my nacelles glow in game at that rate, and also other objects in game. Not giving a reason for this not to be fixed *glares at cryptic*
But lowering the bloom does help... but it continues to flicker.. the only way to stop it is have bloom set at 0%... and iam sorry but that wont cut it for me.
Please fix these issues
Engines flicker and should not because when I go by a mirror universe ship there nacelles dont. They stay nice purple glow
Also the defelectors on ships. iam sorry but if your defector is a green light source your going to have a green reflected light source on your hull.. thats just.. NORMAL/REAL.
add it to the list of graphical bugs that need fixing but probably never will i suppose.
it would be nice if a gm would respond to the situation and at leased say, we know there is an issue and we are looking into fixing it soon...
I know they fixed abit of the issues with the sets but then suddenly its like they gave up on it and moved on... kinda not pleased... quality before quantity.
season3 was intended to be a bug fix but to me later was changed under "silent running" and made into season3 FOUNDRY.
Yep, lately i see alot of rubberbanding in game plus the new bugs..... when will companies realise quality first. Lets hope they start doing something about these fixed.
I did manage to talk to farktoid earlier today when I saw him in ESD, hey says they have plans to fix the nacelle flickers once the new series goes live. I took a screeny, if I dont hear nothing soon on this ill make a post in STO section.
I hope they also rectify the disabled deflector effect on the Aegis that doesnt return the deflector colour to normal and the glow dots on the phasers.
The deflector field visual effect is the projected hexgrid field ONLY. What you are looking at is the shield visual effects, which, similar to the Borg shield visual effects, colors/re-skins the hull and lighting effects. For the AEGIS shields, this means the running lights, the boussard recolors, deflector recolor, phaser strip and vent illumination, and glowy nodes. All of those are the shield visualization.
Personally, I run with just the shield visualization on (or more precisely, hull visualization via the shields), and love it, especially the boussard and deflector recolors. The engine and deflector visual effects are a little too much for me though, especially because they are always on. I'd probably think differently if the hexgrid deflector effect just replaced the scanning/deflector power visual effect and the impulse engine visual effect only came on when you hit full impulse or some other engine-boosting power like evasive maneuvers or something.
No dev response in any of these "Flickering" posts. It seems fairly widespread, hopefully we'll see mention of it soon!

Hm. That's the card I have, that probably explains the crashes every time I would zone into a ground mission. I'll have to try that.
I was running settings on the highest slider setting like I do on most games, when I turned it down to recommended and start running the game as an administrator the problem cleared up. I still get the occassional graphical hiccup though, other players/crewmembers seeming to stutter in place, either that or its lag.
yep and the nacelles on both sets still flicker...
