Blue Phaser Array exploit for Feds?

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
I was experimenting with acquiring the blue phaser arrays from Everything Old is New.

When I tried to acquire the second Fore Array for my KDF, I was told you're only allocated one of each item (1 fore, 1 aft) per character.

Then I went to take a hard look at my Federation character.

Courtesy of the original series Enterprise, Federation players are capable of replicating these items enmasse.
All they need to do is commission the ship, take the arrays, discharge it and repeat to get another set of the arrays.

For the record, when I realized this was an exploit, I deleted all but the requisite 1 each I am allocated ingame.

Shouldn't such a blatant exploit be fixed?

I don't think it's an exploit, just a reward for people that bought the TOS Constitution.

its not to much of an exploit at the moment as the blue phasers arent as good as the regular ones you can get for completing the mission on VA

which are mk XIs with x2 damage or x2 accuracy

Not an exploit at all, just a way to give those people who spent 800 C-store points a little 'nod' so they don't feel cheated for spending those points. They have the ability to outfit their entire ship, while everyone else is limited to 1 fore, 1 aft. So feel free to 'make it so'.

Old news is old. Feel free to equip as many sub-par phasers as you like.

Hell, when I realized this was possible I went with double forward double back on my cruiser. Sure its subpar damage for what I could craft/obtain, but its so pretty.

You equip phasers on your KDF craft? A pox on thee! REAL Klingons use Disruptors!

I use weapons that run off the blood of my enemies!

    Actually, I use Antiproton.

Not a fan of disruptors (or phasers) per se.

Antiproton, Plasma and Polaron are my favored damage types.

Well, to explain, I was investigating the possibility of arming my other ships, in case they become "space BOFFs" when Fleet Armadas become available.

I thought it would be a quick and easy solution to collect the blue phasers for this purpose, since they scale up with rank.

But then discovering I was only allocated 1 of each type, realized this was an exercise in futility.
So my Maurauder, Varanus, Vo'Quv and Kar'Fi are not going to use these as I'd hoped.
They use around 6-8 each, 2 beam arrays alone won't do much more then add a colored highlight to the beam rainbow.
