Hitting Rear Admiral soon

hey guys
Soon, as a Science officer, I will be at Rear Admiral, and I have a few questions ...

1. What Ship should I take at this rank? Should I stick to my Science Vessels, or change? And what type of this vessel should I pick ( I think there are two types of each? )
2. Any abilities for my officers i need to look out for that will help?
3. Also, Intrepid for endgame or the other Science Vessel? Which one is more useful?

Thanks

I'll just tell you what I did and can recommend..

    1. Yes stick to your science vessel. I recommend you take the recon science vessel, luna class. Not the deep space.
2.Abilities I love and use: Photonic Shockwave, Jam sensors, Tractor beam and Tyken's Rift (after a hull breach I like to use tractorbeam to keep them close and then give them a photonic shockwave. I also used tyken's rift to drop their shields and then torpedo spread.)
    3. I think you should go for the inteprid rather than the nebula since it has a way better turnrate

It's fairly had to pick a ship for someone whose play-style you don't know. :)

Personally I like the Luna at RA and higher. It's nimble and has the extra Tactical spots: BO and Console. With that I can get a "free" Tactical Team buff and extra power to weapons in the Console. The DSSV and Nebula just turn too slowly for my liking - and the Neb's too specialized to be very good in solo play. My science VA loves his Luna. :)

Whether or not you should change ships depends on if you like science. If you have your crew specialized to the various science abilities, and are comfortable using them in combat, there's no real reason to switch ships unless you're looking for a new experience.

I have an interesting situation where I copied my character to Tribble for testing ages ago, and it's still at Rear Admiral rank. On the live server, I stuck with science ships and got the Luna. But on Tribble I went and got myself a fleet escort just to try it out.

It's really interesting to play because it turns and moves really well and I stuck a bunch of cannons on it and respeced my bridge officers to have cannon rapid fire and cannon scatter shot, plus two fire at wills attack pattern omega and attack pattern beta.

It's certainly more powerful than my ship on the live server, but it lacks the science abilities.
