Orbital Strike needs a longer recharge!

Seriously, this ability is way too OP to have a two minute recharge. It needs to be brought up to five minutes...or more! Nothing worse than seeing your enemies wiped out in one shot like that! It's an I WIN button and needs to be nerfed! The Damage is way too powerful for such a short duration cool down. If people want to abuse the game with Orbital Strike, it needs one hell of a timer adjustment.

    Wow, you must be in a different server/patch/game to me. I hardly use it as the cooldown and dmg make it pointless!

    I can only assume he's being facetious to try and draw some Dev attention to the fact that so many find OS to be so useless in the game.

    After using the Orbital Strike power, i often commend my tactical officer on his use of our ship's most vanilla phaser array.

    In my experience, OS is a stun attack and the main threat is the expose risk you might get or the bad timing of being hit when trying to heal etc. dps wise it sucks and it's an ability I barely use because you get this nice big circle that basically tells you 'warning, attack imminent!!!' giving you ample time to run out of the circle and again, unless you are unable to move, you really have little to worry about there. It already has a bad time of 2mins. I'd be more concerned about the turrets they can fabricate and replace at a much quicker rate and do more dps than OS ever will.

    I dont know? , for me its such a hit and miss skill that I don't rely on it. Compared to my tac with security team, which I can also double up with 2 clicks, OS has occasional use.

    But I haven't used it pvp much, is that the balance issue?

    In PVE it is often disturbed in activation only to work just as the NPC is about to die anyway.

    I mostly use it to stun than kill tbh.

    Sorry. I meant the OP was being facetious. :) He's intentionally making a false statement to draw the Dev's attention to the problem - though I think the Devs like it as it is and aren't going to make a change.

    What in the world you talking about? Orbital Strike barely does 60 points of damage, even with buffed. I get better damage with my Sniper Rifle's secondary fire. :confused:

    I would hope so or I want some of whatever he is smoking! How can anyone view that ability as OP? It takes 2 minutes before you actually get it off and usually you are interupted and it goes into CD anyway and then when you do get it off you only get it on the guy that you targeted becuase everyone else had time to get out of the path!

    It is definately the worst ability in game right now!

    They call it sarcasm. And yeah OS is so useless for damage that they may as well cut it from the game and add something else for the engineers. Only thing OS is good for is a knockback, but that's right about it. Pity tho, it looks nice when it goes whoosh on the enemy.

    Are you kidding? It's quite effective in PvP when it procs. It's a very power control ability. It can disable even the most skilled of PvP players with...howls of laughter after using Orbital Strike against another player. In the most extreme case, you can dispatch the incapacitated player at your leisure.

    I think Orbital Strike is nice if you set your ground skills up to use it correctly.

    I like the cooldown the way it is. If it needs to be changed, it should be shorter.

    Realistically, and orbital strike should do more damage then it currently does. The reason there is not many ground battles on a large scale basis in Star Trek is because a starship can come in and destroy all the hard ground targets from orbit.

    Wraiven must be speaking sarcastically because OS is worthless. It's DPS is something like .4

    the only thing where it is good is vs. Borg Drones... they can't run out of the way and the knockdown helps.
    BUT then they stand up and are all aggro on ME instead of my BOffs so uhm... yeah on Elite ... not soooo good of an idea ;P
