"It will end up in the C-Store"

Time and Time again I have seen people say this about every little tidbit of information we get with new content. Its really gotten annoying. I know the Devs pay attention to the forums and actually care for the stuff we say but when I see someone utter that phrase I feel like the dev's shouldn't even look at the thread let alone the reply.

Did Mission Replay end up in the C-Store?
Did the new Sector Space end up in the C-Store?
Did the Dividian and Breen missions end up in the C-Store?
NO!

Stop giving this sarcastic remark and try and enjoy all that we have so far with Season 3.

Your post will end up in the C-Store.

Now Tribble test rewards generally end up in the C-Store. (no idea if the latest wil)
Same with the pre-order stuff and things like that. (not all of them)
    And visual fluff.

Missions(the weekly series) and whatnot might end up in the C-Store if STO goes hybrid.

Well how would they justify putting missions in the c-store with us paying subscriptions? I'm sure they would in a heart beat, if they knew they could get away with it.

That said, "they'll put it in the c-store" isn't always a negative connotation, but in fairness, the truth. If you've missed out on a cool reward that everyone earned, chances are it will end up in the c-store. And just the same, don't expect your exclusive goodies from whatever to remain exclusive. Cryptic will eventually add them to the c-store.

Indeed. I generally prefer to buy the Tribble rewards because if I were to get them by logging on I would not actually contribute anything. I would just idle in space for whatever amount is needed. (ok so I totally did this for the Borg tribble but it was under gunpoint)

This way I get to contribute a little bit.

Its really not too hard to see how it works.

If its a vanity item, ship or costume, it will probably be on the C-Store in some form.

If its a service for your account, it will be available on the C-Store.

if it is something that is "unique" and only obtainable in a limited way, it will likely be on the C-Store at some point.

If it is content or a feature, it will be a part of the core game (content being things you DO, not things you GET)

They've done a pretty good job of not making the C-Store too burdensome, and while we might complain about the quality versus price of items from time to time, I think we can see how it has helped the game over the last 9 months (we've gotten lots of new features, content and they still managed to get us cool new stuff to play with too)

    So, I am satisfied.

I'm sure you realize that no one has ever said that about any of those things. The C-Store comment is usually made about every ship model, ship costume, bridge pack and new uniform set and in case you hadn't noticed for the most part it is true.

Was the Counselor Troi uniform added for free?
    Was the NX-01 added free?
    Was the Sehlat pet free?

Not that I am against many of these thing being added to the C-Store. It's just that people can see that very little aside from mission content is actually added for free. The AGT uniforms, for instance, should be added directly to the game. This is the time period we're playing in. The uniforms really should have been the default for all Starfleet from the very beginning. Charging C-Store points for them would not seem right.

Of course, most players will probably buy them anyway, which means they probably will be a C-Store pack. Cryptic is out to make money, just like any other company. Though they do want to give us everything we want this game to be, they still need to charge us enough for it to be profitable, otherwise there won't be a game for very long.

You're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't. What are you going to do?

This is true with any business that wants to be successful. No one would charge 1 dollar if they can make more money charging 2 dollars.

But i think cryptic knows that they would not get away with it, and it would harm them a great deal in the not-so-long-run.
