Wasn't this commonly known as the 'Peregrine Class Attack Fighter'? I could be confusing this with the ships the Maqui used, but I was under the impression they were one and the same.
Actually, it's a civilian Peregrine-class Courier, manufactured and in use by the Federation - which is how the Maquis came into their possession. During the Dominion War, Starfleet simply did what the Maquis had done before and slapped a couple weapons onto them to use these ships as makeshift "attack fighters" for their all-or-nothing assault on DS9.
That being said, I think someone in Cryptic forgot to rename the mob you encountered. Until about a month ago, the Peregrines used to be Danube-class Runabouts, and in this instance it seems as if the spawn kept its old name. If you can still remember where you encountered these, you can file a bug report.
I believe the correct name is now "Peregrine Attack Fighter" or something ... they're in the SB24 Fleet Action, too.
That link 404'd on me.
But I assume you mean the Ju'day-class Raider as compared to the Peregrine Courier. Quite a lot of people confuse the two as they look very similar (and were both used by the Maquis), only differing in size and the aft section. Their models probably use a lot of identical parts.
Is there going to be a flyable version, even if it's a tier 1 ship similar in use to the bird-of-prey I don't care lol
I remember seeing them in Sacrifice of Angels I think, they looked pretty nippy.

If it ever was added as a playable ship it would be more like the Danube Class Runabout you can buy at DS9, not a full size starship.
The Delta Flyer is unique - I'm not sure I would want to see it "cheapened" by having thousands of copies. The type-IX shuttlecraft on the other hand ... Very sleek and sexy.

Problem is, that's not proven anywhere. The Peregine Courier could have been any of three ships in DS9.
See the article here.. DS9 wasn't very consistent in their ship usage.
The ship shown in the OP is the Peregine-class light fighter model, whether or not it's a "civillian" model is up for debate. The only known appearances of that ship (whwere it's known for CERTAIN what it is) are as a Federation fightercraft.
If those are the Peregrine fighters, they snuck into the game, around November 12th (I knew they were in the patch notes, just had to figure out which one).
General

Not quite. The "attack fighter" model did appear in the DS9 episode "The Maquis" and was described there as a civilian courier (also mentioned in the article you linked). Given that the very same description was also applied to the unseen Peregrine in "Heart of Stone", I'm prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt and say they're the same.
Wouldn't change much about the actual ship, anyways, as according to hard canon it'd be a civilian model in both cases. The only thing that's not 100% proven but only suggested is the "Peregrine"-name.

Um, I don't know where you get that from, as that design has seen action as a Federation fighter not only in too many Dominion War episodes of DS9 to count, but also in TNG:"Preemptive Strike", where ist is a FEDERATION FIGHTER. Not a civillian ship - and it's unknown in hard canon whether or not there's a civillian version - that's kinda one of the whole points of the article I linked to.

nice find ^^
i probably even have read that patchnote, just didn't knew the name of the little fighter ^^

When was the last time you watched that? The only faction using these "fighters" there is the Maquis.

No. Read it again - the point of the article is that the term "Peregrine" is only mentioned once but never connected to the different visual designs. The article even flat out states that the only thing consistent in every instance is the courier-aspect.
Now all we need is a Fed carrier to balance out those Klink carriers. As it stands now I wont even go into faction verses faction pvp because there isn't a Fed one. So here's a note to self. Don't complain about Klink carriers in PVP, just don't join Fed v's Kilnk matches, stick with Fed v's Fed until they balance it.:D

Fixed that for you.
And: Hoooo boy, I should have known it would only be a matter of time in a thread about fighters.

Oh, no. Talk about a Frankenstein's monster!
anyway THIS is the official Ma'Quis Raider....

Why the Gre'thor not. It's another moneysink and a pretty ship. I could even imagine player-made PvP matches between fighter squadrons.
That being said: I'd also like to fly the type-VI shuttlecraft, while we're at it.
Yay to the Type-IX tho:o:D
Yes, the fattie lol

Hmmm looks like a 25th century refit of em....nice find here.

The other ones always gave me a sense of meh, but the clean and sleek version looks good.
I actually specifically remember reading that note and thinking to myself... "Fed carrier coming soon?"
