Three Centurian Medics = No fun

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
I know this has been addressed before but can we please do something about the Centurian Medics. I was on Rator with my alt and I finally just bailed on the last ground battle. There were three Centurian Medics in the fight which meant we were making no progress.

Simple solution: make it so that medics cannot heal other medics. At least that way we might be able to take them out. I had my entire away team focusing on one medic, but the other two were healing him faster than we could cause damage. And when we split up, the medics were healing themselves faster than one or two of us could do damage.

FIX THE MEDICS!

Ill be the first to admit, situations like that are less then fun. But there are solutions.

Did you use any control abilities? Stasis Field works great, as long as you keep your teams fire focused. And will prevent the other medics from healing. Anesthizine Gas works similar and has a wider area of effect.

I know where you're coming from man. Dealing with those damn Romulan medics is a pain in the rear. Hopefully they'll be dealt with via nerf bat...

In the mean time, to add to the advice others have given, may I suggest equipping a bat'leth and slapping one medic round the head with it, while your BO's distract the other(s). Thanks to the shield bypass I find them very helpful if there's an annoying shield healer mixed in. Nothing worse than having a medic healing himself back up while you're having to drop their shields again.

I suppose the ground combat overhaul slated for season 4 will do something about it. Hopefully.

Yeah i know the feeling Romulan Medics cheat lol

Three second Cooldown on there abilities at best makes them about as annoying to fight as engineers constantly using Shield regen.

And Yeah Debuff Holds help immensely, almost as much as getting them with an Exploit attack, nothing like vaperising them to make a fight easier

Wait until you witness the godlike power they have of reviving vaporized companions.

Normally i will put my bo's on 2 of them and try and separate 1. still takes a long time if you miss a root on thier fellow medics and they come and revive her back up with 3/4 health and full shields.

And of course , this was the perfect reason to nerf the proton weapon, why give you something that evens the odds. because the game lacks content , they want you to spend 45 minutes trying to kill 3 npc's look at it like a raid. :D

the devs have a huge hole to dig themselves out of , and they are equipped with spoons and toothpicks. I wouldn't look for this to change until they revamp ground combat. Of course , if i wanted to play a 1st person shooter there are much better ones out there.

Hell, they need to revamp the friggin' Molly, too. I hate that mission, especially in an escort. Maybe I just suck, but currently I'm resigned to the fact that I'll have to outlevel it in order to do enough damage to the Molly to win. It has crazy shield regen.

My alt is a LtC7. His skills are limited. And that stasis field only lasted long enough for me to get the health down to 10% before it broke. And I was facing THREE of them. The stasis field only works for one.

My BOffs have Stasis Field as well, but for some reason, they never use it. None of us have Anesthizine Gas, I think it's a higher level skill.

When I faced two earlier, I had my away team focus on one and I used my Bat'leth to beat the other one away from the group so I could kill him. And by the time I got back, my BOffs had taken care of the other one (not so strong when his buddy isn't near by). But that strategy doesn't work with three. One of the other medics will always follow you. Plus the entire Romulan group will continue to distract my away team because we haven't been able to kill any of them either.

When foundry goes live, I may just build a level where you have to raid a Romulan hospital full of medics. Just to see how many people can beat it.

As long as you equip them with whips and chains and dress them in black leather.

What type of Captain are you? Sci?

I just ran into a similar situation with my Tac, and it wasn't too bad (but, then again, Tacs have tools out the wazoo to pump out damage).

When I ran into those kind of ordeals with my Sci, I'd basically just pick one and have my BOs focus fire on him while I'm spamming all of my holds/Exposes. It also helps if you have an Expose and an Exploit weapon equipped. I recommend Wide Beam Pistols and Split Beam Rifles. That way you get some high damage AoE action going on, hopefully forcing the other 2 Medics to use some of their heals on themselves.

My alt is a sci. My away team was equipped with the Devidian TOS weapons and I had that Devidian anti-proton weapon. But you may be right. I don't recall having this much trouble when I ran through with my Tac...

2 of my BOs have the Devidian reward weapons. 1 has an Expose and I can't remember if the other if the other has the Ghostbuster gun or not.

But yeah, Wide Beam Pistol + Split Beam Rifle is win.

Well, my alt is close to being promoted to Commander. Once he is, I'll readjust my skills and weapons.
