Hope alls well. Recently came back and of course tuned into the radio straight away.
Ok, my question would have to be. Have Cryptic/CBS been in touch about doing some ships for STO and if so whats happening? If not then would he consider working with Cryptic on such a project?
Looking forward to hearing this interview as Im an avid collector of the Ships of the Line.
Would he be willing to let the Dev's of STO use his recent upgrade to the NX-01 Enterprise (adding the secondary hull) in the game?
(...I understand that there would need to be financial incentives worked out, I'm just curious if He'd even let them use it...)
I'd love to see how this ship can look when its not a rush job, see how the details could be filled out.
I want to know this too.
i'd vote for him ^^
Good one! I'll be sure to ask
How did you convince the higher ups to allow the modifications into the NX we saw on TV? Did it involve reminders of fans with pitchforks and torches, or was it more subtle?
How did the process of evolving, or devolving, the Akira into the NX go?
Off the top of my head...
What would it take to get Mr. Drexler to let Cryptic use the season five NX-01 refit in STO?
Hehe...oops:o
That's what you get from not reading the OP more than once.:D
But still....the name Doug Drexler doesn't ring a bell with most of the non-Trek fans....
What're your thoughts on some of the more... interesting ships in the game?
Have you or will you submit a design for the new Enterprise-F?
Have you been asked to do any design on a possible new Star Trek series yet?
And as a bonus question, how does one come up with a good new alien species and equivalent ships/cities?
With the rather poor quality of the submitted designs in the Next Enterprise contest, can you give the people that are designing a ship right now, any usefull tips on starship design?
question for you Zach, is Doug as awesome as we all expect him to be?
Yes!!!!!!
The interview was totally amazing, we had some awesome callers including BARBARA LUNA who played in the original series episode, Mirror Mirror, and Steve Neil, a designer who worked on The Motion Picture and Ghostbusters among others.
The download will be up in about 1 hour. We are scheduling "Part 2" of the interview which will hopefully be within a few weeks!
