Ten Forward Mafia [RP Signup/Discussion]

edited March 2011 in Ten Forward
After recent comments about lack of RP, plus the suggestion I made many a month ago that was well recieved...

Ten Forward *may* gain a brand new, Mafia RP.

The Setting
New Haven, 1946 - the name being a play on Mafia:The City of Lost Heaven.

Why 1946? Well, It's between the end of WW2 and the beginning of invasion of the likes of the Triads and Columbian Cartels, as well as the rising of other groups, such as the Irish. (No offense to any of these areas).

Plus WW2 created a whole new range of weaponry...

The city itself has about 11 different areas; the docks, Lower Newton, Upper Newton, Central Plaza (The location of the main businesses), Uptown (the location of the train and police stations), Shirley (this is where I live in the UK, so I sneaked it in), Kingston, Itonini (the equivelent of Little Italy), Depton, Hartford and Ferenco (the location of most of the factories).

Playability
There are 3 seperate familes ruling New Haven;
The Andellioni Family
The most historical, and the first Italian family was the main player in New Haven until minor skirmishes into other areas wiped out a small number of it's members, who underestimated the other families.
Spartan844: The Don, "Fat" Ceshmia, Jonathian Remishi, Lucas Maywether, Big Mikey
The Mazzanti Family
Again, a true Mafia family, the Mazzanti family originally came from LaGrange city, but was pushed out by an influx of Irish Mobsters. Originally headed by Don Colera (who died while performing a succesful heist of Central Bank), the family is now run by Ms Francesca, Don Colera's daughter, who stays away from the fighting as much as possible. Their main base of Operations is "The Little Italy" Bar, run by Joe Ramano, who has retired from mafia life to run the bar.
MGDawson: Harry Manchino, Ms Francesca (Don), Paul Barese, Luca Ferrero, Carlos Milano, Ms Francesca's assistant, Guiseppe Leorre, Joe Ramano
The Lombardi Family
The third family in the city, the Lombardi family is the largest family, with several safe houses and resturaunts. They are also slowly corrupting the government to allow them to deal guns more widely.
Mizarone: Don Lombardi, Donnie, Vincent

As well as the 3 families, there are numerous gang members
Greasers - Often found in or near Ferenco. They are the "rebellious youth" movement, and only interested in music and doing what they want.
Irish - Led by Michael 'Micky' Mahoney, normally found in "The Green Hill" bar in Upper Newton.
Bombers - Often found in Hartford, the Bombers are African-Americans.

play here.

Sounds like fun. Would we all be part of the same family?

That hasn't been a problem in past 10F RPs, has it?

(P.S. It DOES seem a bit offensive and/or threatning, I know, but it WAS a great scene)

My gang would be called the Chopper Orcas. We would be a series a references to the classic musical West Side Story.

We would be COMPLETELY ineffective in a fight and would insist that all disputes be settled by an inter-gang song and dance competition. Our gang would also possess the secret knowledge of having Perfect Hair and our car, Oiled Thunder, would be unbeatable in a race.

I don't think I am taking this seriously...

Only one that I know of. I believe it was MG's last RP thread. But since he has almost certainly learnt his lesson and would never do that again.

    Concigliere: Jonathan Lico

Caporegime: Donny Vincent, Lucas Maywether, Marcus Vincent

    Enforcer: Big Mikey

Dawson, I live 5 minutes out of the real New Haven in the states here, and let me tell you in 46 it WAS a haven for all this. Lot of them still kicking around quiet like. Nice unintentional win there man.

I see it started. Are we just jumping in and posting and hope it starts to congeal? Or is there some gist for us to follow? Mostly I'm curious if we are all running our own families or all together or teaming up or figuring it out as we go along.

Well, I'd hope we'd have players 'merge' into families, each controlling a part of the city. Warfare, bungled robberies and shootouts to enshew. :D

Wait- to add a bit of twist to the RP, why don't we add cops as playable? It would certainly provide a challenge.

I see that there only two families listed in the OP. Who is the third family or is there still an opportunity to create it.

Oppertunity to create it. That's why I left it blank.

Plus there's all the smaller gangs...in fact, I'll be updating the OP shortly.
