Sector Space and..

Id like to see what they HAVE DONE to sector space and add it to Qo'nos, ESD and all instances. Seriously, Coming from a beautiful Sector space, and going into an instance and being hit in the face with a sloppy trout that is the old space environment is really to much :(

So Cryptic are you going to makeover all space areas with what you have done in Sector Space?

Regards

Someone else posted about this a few days ago, and Stalh responded to say that basically they are happy with system space and the job that the art team has done. he also said that they base the background of of real space imagery.

not trying to give an exact quote, just sum up what he said.

I more or less agree with you, maybe not as fervently. I'd like to just see some of the clouds and nebula taken down a few notches and maybe not have all space in a sector be the color of the surrounding faction.

Its nice warping into systems like Vulcan that have just black space, its almost like being able to breathe.

That being said, I'm just happy we have a nice new sector space.

I would rather they did not myself as I was partial to the old version of Sector Space. I would rather just keep the darkness of space for when venturing between planets and sectors, and not bring the bleakness of it all to my own personal instances of fun. :D

I'm not saying that this is the case with DStahl, but a lot of people fail to realize that many of those images are color enhanced. The non-visible radiation spectrum is represented by varying colors.

    Yeah, cuz space is boring.
There's no sound in space either...

Well, yeah, but the things occupying it are awesome.

Admittedly i don't mean that EXACTLY what we have in Sector space is what we should have but a nice same color contrast that we have in Sector space :)

The darker tones of Sector space might be too much for system space, but something in between wouldn't be bad, to be honest.

They don't have to remove the imagery, they need to tone it down a notch or too.

I like all the space clouds and nebula and whatever in the backgrounds...without it, it makes flying a little more disorienting.

I concur with the notion that SS should be none faction colored. That is what astrometrics is for in my opinion.

Additionally, I hope the sector space message gets changed. I thought when it was announced it was going to be the BO giving the message that it would be a different message. Sadly I was wrong. :o

I expected it to be something akin to:

'Captain, we are about to enter XXXX space. Shall we proceed?'

    With the responses being:

    "Make it so'
    'Belay that order'

Stahl's happy with it and so am I. I don't want them to change a thing about system space. Is the new, vast, dark sector space nice? Yes, it is. Do I want my entire gameplay experience to be just as dim and empty? Not at all. System space as it is currently designed is beautiful and engaging. I'd like to see it remain as is.

They should leave the system space as it is and only modify it if/when they decide to remove system instancing in the future. Because then it would be combined with sector space so you would probably get a mix of both when flying around in a system, then the blackness again when flying in the rest of space.
