Considering the Enterprise B encountered the Nexus wave in 2293 (generations) and it appears every 39 years it should appear in 2410 (2293, 2332, 2371, 2410).
Seems like there should be something in game to commemorate such an event...

I absolutely love this idea..
A rescue mission goes wrong when you're sucked into the Nexus, and you have to consult with the shadows of Guinan, Kirk, & Picard before you leave in order to figure out how to get your ship out and complete the rescue!
My core idea behind this was to do something a bit different with it.
If I could assemble a dream cast and make it the big one year event, I'd go for a mission where Troi is aboard a ship ambushed by Klingons near Romulan space. She's there to help study the Nexus but the Klingons won't listen (believing it to be a trick) and, as a result, they're all sucked in.
Naturally, Riker won't take this lying down and Worf is eager to set things right and so we team up with them, with Riker masterminding an insane plan to either free Deanna from the Nexus or get stranded there forever himself. Meanwhile, you've got unruly Klingons traipsing around in there and it will take Worf, Riker, and our best and brightest to set things right, maybe catching a glimpse of a legend or two along the way.
Great idea although I think I should point out that wasn't the cycle changed when the Amagosa star was destroyed along with the obvservatory? Who knows if or when the Nexus will return?
i second this idea the nexus was awesome in generations (one of the few good things about the movie, though i liked it overall), so it should appear in-game since the game is close to a year old (2410 in-game )
I love this idea too. Though they only have 3 more weeks then its 2411....
The game timeline actually progresses as you play. If you check your logs you'll see that your early missions are in 2409 but your higher rank missions are in 2410+. The game's internal clock actually counts all that time flying around to missions and other things.
Agreed Having the Nexus in-game would be awesome (and I didn't even realize it was time for it's cycle). I think it'd be fantastic to have it wandering through the different sectors, allowing us to do..well..whatever the devs could come up with.
And there's already been some foreshadowing of it as well! The Guardian of Forever shows Dr. Soran calling the Nexus from Generations...so that could definitely mean the devs have thought of this as well and have something in mind....:D
As long as it focuses more on, as Guinan said it, "Being inside joy" and not another cheap ploy to do time travel, then yeah I think it would be fun.
Personally I think we need to start focusing more on the story-line of the present instead of all the cheap nostalgic voyages into the past. There's a great story in this game... I don't know why they shy away from it so much.
I like it. And to get the illusion that the Nexus is moving, start the mission in the Pi Canis, and each subsequent mission would be at a different location through the Pi Canis and Eta Eridani Blocks.

Ehh...I remember one of the Devs saying we are still in 2409. They said it wasn't meant to correspond to the modern calendar.
Actually, it'd be 2410 in three weeks, since the game started in February of 2010, but the gametime year was 2409.

Either way I like to see it. I think it would look amazing travelling through sector space like the crystalline entity does.
