Since the beginning of the game I have always thought the blue nebula in the sol system instances was ridiculous. However with the release of season 3 this blue nebula has been removed; I am now feeling like this is what space really is!
The visual upgrades that have been made to sector space and some systems are amazing and I hope this can be built upon in future seasons to come. I am feeling more and more like I am in star trek. Keep up the good work and don't ever lose sight making this feel more like I am in space and among the stars.
Even though they said they weren't gonna change it? I'm glad they did though; someone high up must have gone "Actually... Maybe they're right; it does look a bit daft."

I went to ESD last night, didn't see any change to the sky.
The Aenigma Nebula is the portal to the Captain's Table, a social spot for Lifers and Long-Time Veterans on both Fed and Klink sides. Is this what you are talking about ?
They're talking about the background images, those nebulas behind the invisible wall. Sol space looks a lot more like what we actually see looking up now. Stars on black, basically. (Not exactly, some blue remains, but it's a lot subtler.)
Honestly, I dislike the new look. Sure, it's more realistic (to everyone that had an opportunity to travel to the 25th century and observe what the view around Earth may or may not look like at that point in time.......) but I think it looks incredibly bland, dull, and lifeless (unlike the rest of the game). And that's a pity, because Earth is an area Federation players return to frequently. I thought the artists had it right the first time around; the view was much more inspiring with the colorful background.
Picard must have said "Let's see what's out there." because the cold, dark view around Earth depressed him.
First off Glad for the upgrade on some Graphic issues looks great.
But alot still needs work; for instance, The bases like earth or room, hall ways on ships are still scaled to high it looks as if a 36 foot tall alien should be walikng in soon. They need to down size alot of area Hall ways on ships look to big it should be 8 wide by Ten feet tall and it should go by the what ship you have like if Im on the next Generation ship (Enterprise) the hall ways curve around not go in a strait line. The voyger goes in a strain line but has some curves deppending on the deck your on.
Also the engine rooms shouldn't all look the same The Enterprise, had a large computer table in the middle before entering the warp drive area. The voyager had open space but with people wrking along the walll but siting down before intering the warp drive area and even then they had to council tables the worked off of in front of the warp drive. THey should make it more authentic is all for each ship.
Just some Ideas that they can approve on with graphic issues is all.
I'm not impressed with the Sol system, mainly because there is no Sol system to be impressed at. That's something they're still working on.
The space immediately around Earth is alright though, I'm glad they got rid of the space-painting around it. I'm definately missing the orbiting ships in the interior view though, for me that was an amazing thing to see, gave me more of a sense of the actual scale of the ships we whizz about in. I never did find out why they took them out...

It came out with the patch this morning.

Now they just need to get rid of the Captain's Table portal, and move the ship construction frames to Utopia Planitia orbiting Mars!
Oh, and three words : "mushroom space dock."
