yes Dx11 support is and still is on the works, the current build adds basic support atm, but over time we will see more support as the coding team as dan stated wants to get this added to the engine

so we only got a small bit of directx 11 ? what does directx 11 do for us?
in essence Dx11 add tessalation and better texture managment for suporrted games. I have been tryin mylef to get any info on what details they can give us for what we are gettin, but for now its gonna be better particle/water type effects and sharper images via better optical occlusion. gen game performace would also be included in the pack lol but for the finre details we'll have to wait till we get the info from the code team for the engine.
quick question, does season 3 have directx 11? things look different
Yeah, I've noticed this as well... It makes everything look somewhat cloudy and kinda, for lack of a better term, jagged and not crisp. All the while, Tribble looks like it always has... I have even updated my graphics card drivers and 'force verified' the STO game files. I am not really happy with the way things look now, but it would be nice to know for sure if this is the reason why things are the way they are at the moment.
i've only seen an option for DirectX 9 or 11 on Tribble some builds ago, then it was removed because it wasn't ready.
That option is not in Season 3, not on Tribble and not on Holodeck.
So why exactly do you think something changed?
PS: resetting your video settings to default sometimes helps if things look wrong.
For me (not sure about the OP) at least, I have reset the video setting to default. It doesn't change the fact that it's still below par graphics compared to before.
Yeah when logging into holodeck for the first time post S3 launch I wondered if DX11 has been put back in - my graphics settings haven't been altered as far as I can tell but for me everythings much sharper/nicer than before.

That's really strange how the new update had the opposite effect on me. Like I said in a prior post - the graphic quality looks good on Tribble, but not on Holodeck since the season 3 update.

the option in the trouble shooting yes has been removed but that was there for testing on tribble, on the live build there is no need for it as its set to auto detect on startup.
