The subject line of this thread is a quote from "Little Green Men" [DS9]. (Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFn2s9W1SKo)

There is a new interview with Armin Shimerman (Quark) on StarTrek.com: http://www.startrek.com/article/quark-from-deep-space-nine

An excerpt from it is:

"Armin Shimerman was one of the busiest guys on the planet in the days before he landed his signature role as Quark on Deep Space Nine, and now – albeit in different ways – he remains uber-active long after the curtain came down on Deep Space Nine. Post-Star Trek, he’s guest starred on everything from The West Wing to ER to a Jonathan-Frakes-directed episode of Leverage; lent his voice to numerous animated shows and videogames, including The Grim Adventures of Bill & Mandy, Ratchet & Clank, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and BioShock; acted on stage, directed several shows in Los Angeles, and taught theater as well.In fact, these days, he’s focused mostly, and quite happily, on his voiceover and stage endeavors."

I know that a while ago, there was talk of in the future having more Star Trek actors/actresses contribute their voice talents to Star Trek online like Leonard Nimoy, Zachary Quinto, and Chase Masterson have done so far. Maybe at some point in the future, Mr. Shimerman would be interested in doing some voice work for Star Trek Online as well. The interview clearly states he has lent his voice to video games and he's primarily focused (and happily so) on his voiceover endeavors. I, for one, thought he was an incredibly gifted actor in his role as Quark on Deep Space Nine and would love to see him do some STO voice work in the future. Hopefully it wouldn't be too cost prohibitive, but it may not be. They were, after all, able to secure voice work from the three others i mentioned.

Having Quark, Rom and other well known Ferengi in the game, Yes please. Having voice work for these well known characters, no thanks. This game is not one with a focus on voice overs. I do not see the point in spending money on it when that money can be spent on other things. Just my opinion.

I support more voiceovers in the game, it adds to realism and immersion and is another perk to playing. Having Armin Shimerman, or Tim Russ, J. G. Hertzler or Michael Dorn would be awesome and welcomed by legions of players. The work Leonard Nimoy did was the best so far, in my opinion, because he actually did some lines in an episode and when you first go into sector blocks. While it was cool to have Chase Masterson too, her lines mostly just repeat over and over. Nimoy's were part of the story.

Andrew J. Robinson would be another favorite if the True Way thread currently weaving it's way through our dailies is further explored...

im not sure why you think that. i believe they can easily live well over a hundred just like humans. quark would be about 70 now, so old but not that old.

edit - ishka was well over a hundred.

Cool. I like this. he is so talented, that he can voice a wide range of characters in game. Please don't limit him to just quark.

Quark's still alive according to the game lore - unless I misheard Hololeeta.

You and me both! Morn is supposed to have taken over Quark's. I would love to see that happen in STO! I'd especially love it if everyone you talk to talks about how Morn won't shut up, and just when there's a voiceover to be done, you talk to Morn, the audio track starts... "Uh.."*EXPLOSION* and bam.. right when Morn is about to talk, he gets out one word, and all hell breaks loose and the mission starts.

Err... Where did you hear that?
Ferengi were known to have lifespans that could exceed one hundred years. Following a cosmetic procedure performed on Vulcan, Ishka commented that her lobes hadn't felt so firm in a century. (DS9: "The Magnificent Ferengi")

Yeah, I want Quark, really, Quark's Bar without Quark, WTH? Really, if I was scammed by Quark, my life would officially be complete, I would be happy. Also, WE NEED MORN. Or maybe a relative, like his son or something.

Where did you hear this? I'd imagine that Quark isn't as old as Zek was in DS9 right now. Unless you have a source for this information.

I've never played Dabo at DS9....as a matter of fact I've only spent enough time in the bar to get my mission done. What does Leeta say about Quark?

It would be great if Armin Shimmerman did a few voice overs for a Ferengi inspired mission! Or Andrew Robinson as Garak! Both Garak and Quark were two of my favorite characters from DS9.

Not according to the Star Trek Online spin-off novel "Needs of the Many" by Michael A. Martin! Quark is older, a bit more shriveled, and he's no longer managing the bar that bears his name, but that irrepressible Ferengi is still with us in 2409.

The Holo-Leeta NPC has pages worth of spoken dialogue. You really should listen to her character.

Basically, Quark was down on his luck after selling the bar. Leeta, being a member of the family,. decided to help him out and donate her likeness to his new business: Dabo Gambling Tables.

In fact, Holo-Leeta refers to it as "Dabo with Leeta" as part of Quark Enterprises. It's quite cheeky but Rom and her are quite family oriented.
