Weekly Series Idea: The Q Continuum!!

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
This game needs more Q.. I'd love to see a weekly series devoted to the Continuum.. but if we can't have that we should at least have a couple encounters with Q scattered around the various "fronts" in the game. He could show up periodically to toy with captains, like he did in TNG...

Q was practically a mainstay of the 24th century and yet he gets one measly Borg episode in the game?

I demand more Q!!!!

Yeah good idea - he is a very naughty boy!

... I personally would love more non-combat missions. There is too much pew-pew. I am eager to see some solid Ferrengi stories with 'puzzles'. I love the humour they bring to Star Trek - Mooooogieeeee. Reward can be some Frerrengi novelty ears :).

He doesn't like Klingons. When thinking of Story Arcs, thinks of us too, ok?

I agree, and Q offers something other enemy factions rarely do, the chance for real diplomacy.

But the question is, should we be dealing with Q, Q, or Q?

Now now, he could mess with Klingons just as easily.. that's why I think a weekly series would work out better. Keep in mind that the Q we have in the game is actually Q's son from Voyager.. (im assuming for likeness reasons)... so he would probably have slightly different opinions than his dad..

Hhm, that is true. Though he did act a LOT like his father. Hhhrrm... I still think it seems like a more fed centric mission series. And what would the rewards be?

Well, I would think story would be more important than reward? But remember that episode where Q put everyone into a "robin hood" story? An episode along those lines would be cool... and maybe the reward for that week could be a melee weapon, like a sword or something?

This is just one possibility... It's Q... he could put you anywhere... so rewards could be related to the setting of the episode.. maybe he sends you to the future (that'd be a nice change, no?) and you bring back a cool holoemitter or weapon with unique damage type.. (kinda like the proton gun, but for space)

Come on, throw some ideas of your own out there...

While I'll agree with that, I have no quarrel with a Fed centric series... so long as the feds are not crying when they are on a killing spree during a Klingon centric series. ;)

Otherwise, I'd say we should keep it neutral.

Hey, good point! When we get our Fehk'lhri mission, no one can complain when we have to play through a Q mission!

Lol, but I don't want to share the Fehk'lhri with the feds.:p They are too cool.

If we get a Q weekly then i won't settle for anything less then "Thee" Q

Preferrably with Voice Overs! "remembers ConQuest Online"

Oh I really wish that could happen, but It's probably pretty unlikely... John De Lancie has apparently been tired of Q for quite awhile now..

To be honest.. it only seems that way because those are the only type of Q stories we have ever seen. I am pretty sure the STO writers could make this work for both factions. On the same note, I would not be at all opposed to a weekly series that leaned more in the KDF direction.. I actually asked about Orions in the last Ask Cryptic... I would like to see a weekly series featuring them as well..

Sounds like a cool idea. I wouldn't mind seeing Q again. He's one of the best Star Trek villains/ comedy reliefs.

A Q Continuum-related series would be really nice, so long as he doesn't try to put us on trial again. ;)

How about that time when he threw the Enterprise into the Delta Quadrant and they met the Borg? Except maybe we can meet up with a friendly species instead of getting assimilated!

If we ever get a Q Series with an episode like that, I would like the reward for said episode to be an emote that does this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_MKN_KwIhg :D with the costume as well :p

Actually I think a costume (either uniform or off duty) would make a really excellent weekly mission reward :)

Except maybe we can meet up with a friendly species instead of getting assimilated!

This is actually a really good idea, what if Q sent us to an unexplored part of the galaxy, to help a species that he was fond of playing with.. or perhaps he forces the captain into interfering with a pre-warp culture just to test how they get out of the situation..

Or, to make it a little less fed-centric... what if he decides the Fed / KDF war is a step back for both sides and he decides to create a bigger threat in an effort to try to force both to work together..

With Q the possibilities are really endless...
