Please devs do this. TOS phaser is the coolest looking phaser both out and in game. The effects are awesome and all around it's amazing. It's also the only series reward not to be upgradable by rank.
I've been using it on an even though at my rank (Captain 1) it's not so powerful. I would'nt mind if it was nerfed a little like the retrofit phasers as long as it was decent enough in ground combat.
@OP: Are you talking about the ship phasers or the hand phasers? If it's the former, then they already do. If it's the latter, then I agree that they should scale.

What possible design decision would make scalable items the reward for weekly missions, up until the very last one?
The only thing I can think of is that they've realised that a character kitted out with scalable gear can thrive without seeing any loot drop ever again.
The weapons themselves already do scale. The information displayed when moused over does not, which is the same as with all infinite level items that I know of.

Okay, good. Usually those items have a little infinite symbol on the bottom right corner which TOS phaser does not have. I'm happy though that does indeed scale though.
The damage does indeed scale, however the tooltip is remaining static for the most part and that's the confusing part.
As an example, the one my VA is using still lists the damage as 4.4 DPS with 11 phaser damage, but when he's using it it's throwing out 47 DPS with 31 phaser damage when you mouse over the toolbar. I''ve got a number of points in the grounds skills, but overall at the level cap the TOS Type 2 on my tac appears to be only marginally behind a Mk XI phaser rifle in the damage stakes.
