... you folks at Cryptic might want to consider graded answers in future surveys. You know, the typical "How important to you is X - Not at All, Not Very, Slightly, Very, Extremely" type of deal.
As stands, in the current survey I found myself faced with at least one option where I viewed two of the answers as about equally important (specifically the non-combat and dailies options). I had to answer one and it came down to a coin toss pretty much, so that didn't accurately indicate of how highly I value those particular options in relation to each other.
So yeah, just a suggestion.
Oh, and for those who are wondering what this about because they haven't seen it yet, there's a new survey. You can find a link to it in the game launcher.

Can you link for people who don't have STO on their university laptop because it's a distraction from learning engineering? I promise to build you a starship when I graduate!
The idea is to prioritize the work load - I think.
Most everyone wants everything and now and of ggreat quality.
Link (it was linked for me when I opened the launcher just now, about a day after I opened it last): http://www.startrekonline.com/survey
I just wish they would advertise polls in that forum section like this, as I had no idea the last 2 or 3 were up.

If you haven't completed it yet then it should show up there.
Problem being, I want new dailies and non-combat options equally. Sure, I can flip a coin and pick one, but ultimately that doesn't really reflect how I'd prioritize them, it isn't really indicative of how I feel and in an attempt to collect accurate data... it's failed to some extent.
Now have a whole bunch of people doing the same thing and who knows what message is being sent where...
True, although there were a few questions that I couldn't honestly answer because of the lack of a multiple option answer.
For instance the questing referring to weather you would like to see more space, ground outdoor, or ground indoor combat. I really like to see a mix of both space and group over the listed choices, but because that wasn't an option I had to give another answer.
Thanks for the heads up, I would of overlooked this otherwise.
Huzah, thank you. Just give me the class and loadout and I'll get right on it.
Also good survey, for 5 questions long it really nailed some of the stuff I liked and the stuff that I thought needed improvement. Hopefully we see a change because of this although I have a feeling this survey is going to be all over the place and pretty even.
If you have not played through the new weekly episodes, you will not be able to participate in the survey, as we are specifically looking for opinions regarding them right now.
Thanks,
Stormshade
Yeah, that's another example, but in that case they probably should have just added as "Mix of Ground and Space" option. I think too much of either starts to wear after a while, but your choices were just space or two different options for ground...
Well you actually only need to do the first episode of the second series to unlock the survey. I have yet to finish anything beyond Skirmish, and the survey was available for me to take.
Good point - we'll make sure that this is taken into account when we review the results.
Actually, since you can still buy LTS, it does still apply. If the weekly episodes were a deciding factor for a player to sign up for a LTS, it's appropriate. Of course I may just not remember the question that well.
However, an option that was "I was already a LTS subscriber" or such would have been helpful.
Wierd, considering I had it and I've only done the first two breen episodes.
My main character has completed all 10 of the weekly episodes, but I don't see any link on the home page for a new survey.
Well, they have access to our sub dates. They can see I bought mine in Feb of 2010. So obviously when I say "No" to the first question I'm not saying "Your game sucks!" I'm saying "It didn't make a difference." But either way I just felt the question was needless and either way I answered it I was skewing their numbers.
Now, a survey when you BUY your LTS would be helpful in determining why you bought it.
Yeah -- I had to answer 'no,' because I'm not going anywhere.
