6 months later: Warzone Borg still BORKED

hey... any one here sick of the invincible borg in kar'rat and n'vak warzone yet?

you know the ones i'm talking about... right?

the ones that are INSIDE the borg nodes.
the ones that can shoot you... but you can't shoot them?

after 6 months, i'm pretty sick of it!
and it doesn;t get better... just worse.
almost every'node has 1-3 borg hiding inside.... AWESOME

speaking of borg nodes...
why are they in the map again?
because of their inpenetrable barrier of light?
or their near 2 dimensional layout?
maybe borg wouldnt keep getting stick in them if they werent the size of a borg cube!
just giant defensless borg cubes... with two giant spotlights that somehow prevent matter from crossing through?

and why is scanning one only worth 1 point?
it takes a fleet of ships to destract the invincible bug borg long enough for one ship to scan the stupid thing!
meanwhile... a cruiser with high yeild or an escort with a couple rapid fire burst can make mince meet of a Borg hub in about 10 secodns flat!!!!
and their worth 5 points!

and speaking of nodes being the size of a cube.... why not just replace them with a borg cube?
then we can just scan the remains of the destroyed cube for the signal!

OR... one of a million other ways to advance the map without using borg nodes.

we have creative scans and solutions for other maps... why not kar'rat?
is it because the borg warzones are the playground for half the gaming population?
and the devs want to annoy the maximum number of people possible?

i think its time to make the nodes smaller, or replace them... or just get rid of them!
or instead of gaurding them with borg... make them have automated defenses.... OR SOMETHING!

this bug has been going on for some time now....
why not fix it?

They actually have done something to improve things, but it's not really solving all the problems. The probes-inside-nodes "feature" seems to be less common.

What I find odd is that on Tribble, the probes, cubes and spheres seems to "reset" to the outer borders very often (which seems to be the stuck-in-node counter-measure), but this doesn't happen that often on Holodeck. It can't be that they are still using different versions of the map, can it?

I remember I posted an approach to fix another "issue" witht he map - the fact that no one is really forced to do actually what the map does, and thus inviting griefers to just camp at the spawn points or "blockade" the system without ever completing it.

Here is a more elaborate scripting for the Borg tactics, making them a little more "proactive" and increasing the improtance of scanning nodes. Original Post = http://forums.startrekonline.com/showpost.php?p=3159548&postcount=106
Maybe we aren't just "scanning" the node - we're actively hacking them. If the Borg normally detect weapon fire nearby, they would start attacking and even send out probes to "hunt" someone. But if you hack a node, the Borg get pacified for a while, and only attack when attacked themselves. But after 30 seconds or so, they go back to their previous behavior, and so someone has to keep hacking nodes. (and of course, everoyne only hacks them so that ships of his faction are ignored).
    "Behavior" Model for Borg
    o Pacified / TRIBBLE
    - Borg ships attack when fired upon, or when a ship starts to hack a node.
    - Cubes are still neutral.
    - Borg ships act pacified only for the faction that performed the node hack.

    o Normal
    - Borg ship attacks anyone in aggro range.
    - Spheres take position between the different nodes.
    - Probes take position near a node.
    - Cubes are still neutral.

    o Aggressive
    - Borg Cube still passive.
    - Probes on the map actively hunt down enemy vessels. Usually no more then 2 Probes are send per player ship.
    - Only ships of the faction that has triggered the agressive state are attacked.

    o Highly Aggressive
    - Borg Cubes becomes hostile.
    - Probes on the map actively hunt down enemy vessels.
    - Spheres move into positions between hulks.

Transitions (Transition From => To: Trigger)
    Start State: Normal
Normal => Aggressive: A borg ship is destroyed (triggering faction: attacker), 2 faction ships are destroyed (triggering faction: opposing faction).
Normal => Pacified: A Borg node is TRIBBLE.
Pacified => Normal: 30 seconds elapsed.
Normal, Pacified, Aggressive => Highly Aggressive: A faction can start destroying borg hulks.

yeah you would think that the borg would get more aggressive as the session moved towards climax and reset less.

and i do beleive these resets are causing th eproblems.
klingon ships on SB24 seem to get stuck in the actual starbase during reset.

also... why not have the borg spaudrons patrol further out from the nodes?
that seems like a smart thing to do tactically?
if you are suppose to be protecting somthing, dont stand next to it... FORM A PERIMETER AROUND IT!

as far as the borg not getting stuck in nodes much anymore... you must not go to ka'rat a lot.

i go there at least once every 48 hours and EVERYTIME i go, there are at LEAST 3 nodes with shperes stuck int hem.
IN ADDITION (lol) there are often cubes pinned next to nodes, stuck on hubs and "inside" hub stations.

still a VERY big and annoying problem.

    and besides...
with all the nice art in PvE mission, and the look of the Borg super hub in voyager...

i think its time the borg warzones got a "face lift"

make them darker and cooler looking.
and while we're at it... FIX THE NODE BUGS!!!!
