I know the cryptic design team is conisidering new ideas for the feature episodes, due in large part to the great success of past feature releases. I can say that compared to the typically daily runs, I myself feel that the Devidans daily runs feel more like a true star trek mission(s) than what has been installed previously. However, in keeping with the timeline theme, and current events that are happening in STO, as well as future plans, I think it's prudent to include these in feature releases. So here's a few ideas that I hope the cryptic team can see and possibly consider or evolve/work with.
First of all I think there's not enough emphasis on the war between the federation and klingons. True this was brought up a touch in the newest feature release, but I think there needs to be more emphasis on the war. With that said the main areas of contestation seem to be Eta Eradini (sp) and Pi Canis sectors. It may be worth exploring to include feature releases that include the war as the background story to evolving situations in these sector blocks.
Second I don't think there's nearly enough inclusion of the Romulans in the STO univerise. They play a large part in the operations in the quadrent, even after Romulus was destroyed. In keeping with the rumored playable Romulan faction release for season 4 I think it's fair to include them more into the story. The Romulans have a decorated history of interferring with the Federation and Klingons, whether thier at peace or a war, and now that the Federation and Klingons are at war this would be an fantastic time for the Romulans to gain more power following the destruction of Romulus. Further in a previous Celes sector mission you encountered Romulans "assimiliating" Borg technology. I think this could be a great base story line to build a feature episode off of that may take place in the Pi Canis sector (seeing as it's in contestation and this would give the Klingons opprotunity to play the feature as well). You may also be able to tie this into the Klingon mission that included Romulan spying.
These are just a couple of ideas to add to or build off of, but both maintain a strong emphasis on the evolving story line of the war in between the Federation and Klingons, which I don't think has had enough justice in the current missions in the game.
