Nice pix, but I do not see the difference between that and what I get on my DX 9 card.

just watch the clear textures and the diffrent lights etc and the shadows on images with structures

I hate to spoil it, but i believe this is just polished up DX9 graphics.

Ive tried running in both DX9 and DX11 modes and have seen absolutely "no" difference.
And i do have a DX11 native graphics card.

I agree, there really is no difference. DX9, DX10, DX11, its all the same.

Perhaps there would be a difference with certain graphics like water or NPC abilities (like the Devidians). But with space, its just the same.

It is a lot better than on holodeck and everything is sharper.
But it still is all just DX9 at the moment.

I have a DX11 card as well. And I'm seeing no difference in the photos.

Keep in mind photobucket downgrades uploaded photo resolution (they look a lot nicer in my screenshots folder):

    Sample1
    Sample2
    Sample3

All of these were done with a ATI 5450 with 512MB of memory. I plan on upgrading around Christmas...

There is a huge difference between what I see on holodeck and Tribble at the moment, but I am running strictly DX9 on a 512MB GeForce 220 card. And I have to disagree on the comment there is no difference between DX9 and DX10. There is a huge variance in both quality and performance when going to DX10 on LOTRO, it looks far better and plays so much smoother.

This is not a question on the quality difference between DX 9 and DX 10 per-se, but instead it has to do with does it effect STO which is designed around DX9

This has nothing to do with DX9 vs DX11.
This has to do with the fact that DX11 does not actually work at all at the moment, and its all just a Placebo effect.
No the real change is that the devs have polished up the game visuals significantly.

My new computer came with a GeForce GT 240 video card, it's got 1024 MB of DVM.

How do I know which DX# it's compatible with??

    The computer is a HP... Running on a Pentium Dual-Core E5300 2.60 Ghz (x2)

Windows Vista 64-bit with 6 GB of memory.
