Can we get the hairstyle worn by the guy on the box?

Also, would love a horseshoe ala Picard/Doctor/Pressman. A basic version shouldn't be too hard since it's just "shaved thicker" with a chunk of the top made transparent. This shouldn't change even with the Caitian hair tech.

Would also like the non-receding, Data-style haircut that only women get. It nearly works on men, geo-wise, now... and like most of the oily/slick/gelled looks, I doubtr it will get a major overhaul incorporating the Caitian hair advances.

But mainly I'd like some decent male short hair variety. Right now, we have buzzcut, 50s greaser gone wild, weatherman hair parts (ala Chekov?), Vulcan hair, Dracula widow's peak, and one really short look.

I think it stood out in the most recent weekly. Bones' haircut looked pretty spot on but Scotty looked off. A lot of the haircuts look strange to me in a Trek setting and very, very few of the kinds of hairstyles we saw on the show are accessible, resulting in a lot of people in vintage uniforms with wild pony tails and faux hawks.

I just hope the new hair technology is based on real physics like this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9K8masjDBrI

That was real-time 3D hair tech back in 2005. They surely must be capable of better stuff these days, and everyone has graphics cards capable of handling that by now.

EDIT: found this. the current state of hair tech these days: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2l5dCkWd4Wo

Amazing how things have changed in the last 5 years :)

That's on mid-range graphics cards from 5 years ago.

Are you talking about the YouTube video? Because the speed of that playing has nothing to do with your graphics settings... it's a recorded video with a fixed speed

Sweet a tech demo with a model that has fewer tris than any player character in STO.

New hair tech is coming but there's a lot of reasons that tech demo is more hype than practical.

I really hope that eventually we will just get a ton of more options for character creation. Im talking hair, eyes, noses, etc, just the works in a season patch.

Although now its looking more and more likely if something like that is developed that it will be some kind of C-store bundle pack.

Yes, please! It's a heresy that this is not in the game already. :p

I'd love more variety - hopefully Season 3.X-4's new hair tech will add some diversity and make it feel more real (instead of bad toupees)
