The seeming fixation that the mission creators seemed to have with the number 5?
I'm genuinely curious here. Does 5 have some magical powers? Does it just seem cool and I somehow don't understand why? Was there some mission generator system that was in place, and it was stuck on 5 objectives?
Kill five groups of these, scan five of that, kill four group of this then go destroy one base...five is everywhere!

I know there are some missions in the leveling up that don't involve some variation on the 5 theme, but they're so few and far between that they kind of get lost in the shuffle.
Is this something that will be looked at whenever the missions get that once over I've been hearing about? It would certainly make for more variety and less wondering what variation of 5 will pop up this time.

Quick, everyone make sure you still have your kidneys (Or still don't have them, if you have a legitimate reason not to.)
Speaking of which, I haven't reall noticed alot of 47s in STO, what gives?!
Kill initial group and then murder 5 more
I'm going to totally drop as many 47s into any missions I make when Foundry comes out
+1 for that reference.
I think I remember this post as my response to this question the last time it was raised.
Thanks,

Let me just say, I'm a fan of different numbers on away teams and would prefer two named BOs and a random redshirt (maybe with a random name: "Security Officer X"). Redshirts need to see the light of day and themed achievements for both dying and surviving, particularly once we can set a default crew uniform for ship NPCs and security details.
Overall, though, going back to CoH, I always liked team sizes in even numbers. I think it would rock to have STFs in 4 and 8 person flavors (shouldn't require drastic tweaking) with 8 person being the easier version to encourage grouping. (Basically, just balance 8 player mode for 6 players.)
I'd like to see difficulty go down with numbers some.
Please do not take my BOFFs, I'm quite happy with my 5 BOs, and would really be quite miffed if they were to be reduced in number. (It's OK for occasional episodes where it makes sense, like the 4th Devidian episode, but not as a normal state of affairs.)
The question really is though, will it be rectified with changes in the upcoming once over the missions are getting before replay is put in?
The way it is now kind of makes me feel like I'm doing the same mission over and over again.
Lots of fives with humans. ^.^
There are lots of eights.
Eight is enough... ^.^

Speaking of this. No number is as Powerful as 42.... so.... I win!
Edit: I just noticed you said 47 twice. lol
Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii555555555555
5o5o5o5o5o5o5o5o5o5o5o5o5o5o5.......
don't know that this thread is talking about....
p.s. go click 5 things please.
Makes sense.

I notice that 42 + 5 = 47. Thusly proving the universal significance of both 5 AND 42.
---
But we only have a small amount of time to attain the 5th level...
But 42 is the majority of that number.... so....... I still win!..... I guess.... And, Thusly is not a word.
Also, I am ashamed to say that 42.com is horribly lame. Nothing to do with the number at all, something blasted thing about animals, and America or TRIBBLE of alike. Darn you holders of 42.com....... Darn you....
Hey, if Shakespear and Sarah Palin can make up new words, so can I!
A pity about 42.com though. Such a waste.
I would have to disagree with you there. I'll even link a video of Data using thusly in a sentence (at around 1:20)
As for the rest of you, enjoy your number related madness.
Because there are 5 lights.
Look at your hand.
Well, it's tricky. People use it now because people have said it so often that it is sort of accepted. But the spell checkers (All that I checked anyway) all say it not a word. And when you look it up in a dictionary, it says:
Thusly
Noun-Usage Problem
Then goes on to explain the problem. And it says it is still 'nonstandard variant.
But a ton of people say it's a word, so it is whatever you like better. Anytime someone ses the 'word' thusly, the word thus could have used. So I choose to say thusly s not a word, but that is an opinion.
Sorry to ramble, just sayin',
Could this be an attempt to secretly get us all to watch Star Trek V.
