I just now noticed the "new mod" list at the bottom right hand of the STO Discussion Forum and have noticed Q and others have disappeared with new names in their place.
Don't tell me they were sent to the Mod Bin. Tell me they have all been promoted up the ladder and this is a new influx of recruits. Gold names are Veterans and the dark blue are the Recruits?
dstahl, ar you double dipping again and have a mod alt too? Spread the wealth a bit and hire another mod. We know you have mastered all the jobs there at Cryptic, but being a boss means you get to deligate.

For all the "old mods", May You Live Long and Prosper!

Yeah I saw him a couple weeks back. I think all the Mods should be under the title of "The Q" instead of Moderators.
Of course if your moderated, then they would retain their signature, but all should have under their avatar "Member of the Q Continuum".
I don't know about that. Most of the time they are posting in non-moderating fashion. I think it's easy to tell when they put their moderator hat on.
But then again
Tribbler has said too much. BANNED!
I cannot say which one, but one of them is still here that wrote me a ticket in Mid 2009 (after a thousand or so posts). I have no ill feelings towards any of them, because they try, and thats what I look for in any person.
The ones that leave our daily inspirations, have helped in building this community, and it has been a nice adventure here in the forums as well as in the game.
I agree. I got a ticket once for something that, honestly, was mild compared to what I've seen this weekend. But I know they are doing their best and I tilt my hat to that...
i am pretty sure we also have some ATARI folks here (like Idigo_Fyre or GMDestra a.k.a. atari_destra ).
Even if it might seem like it, but not all those colorful names, in that corner down there, are Cryptic Employees but rather general Atari Support folks, working on multiple games in multiple Forums at the same time (....like the Test Drive Unlimited 2 Forums for example).
I guess that is at least partially responsible for the influx in Moderators...
ATARI surely is pushing some positions arround again.
...of course nobody will ever officially say what exactly is going on behind the scenes here, and honestly i don't realy care as long as the important names pop up in the Dev Tracker.
While that is true, Atari owes enough of its health to Cryptic and is putting enough eggs in the Cryptic basket that I could have sworn they were also relocating a lot of their operations out of France and to Los Gatos.
With pressure from investors and the old school Atari guy hired as their oversight rep (and he reminds me a lot OF Jack), I really would not be shocked to see Jack Emmert made a VP and for roles to reverse somewhat, to a point where Cryptic as we know it basically IS Atari.
A year ago, Cryptic was a studio owned by Atari. A year from now, I think we're more likely to see Cryptic and Atari as one indistinguishable entity, with things like console releases being handled by a separate division within the company but possibly falling under folks like Emmert.
I think the big shift we're likely to see is old management disappearing and Cryptic management and support being folded into Atari management and support, since STO seems to be one of Atari's top performers and a contributing factor on Atari investors not voting to dissolve.
Your most likely right. Change can be a positive or negative thing we all have grown to expect. But I can be a "softee" at times and just be a well wisher and a progress observer of a place that I have belonged to over the years.
More than 2 = Year(s)
I like the way you are thinking, more money and investment into STO will certainly keep the flow of cash coming to Atari/Cryptic/CBS/Paramount/ on and on. This game will continue to hype the Star Trek Franchise for years to come and it would be wise for everyone to start POURING their Dollars/Francs/Deutchmarks and make STO into a Nation unto itself.... *dreams and ponders*
