Has anyone figure out a good way to use Cover Shield? Seems more of a hindrance in some ways.

I use it all the time.
Good for protecting shield and medical generators.
Also good for a quick barrier, plugging holes in natural defensive barriers.

    As said above...

They are also execelent for creating chokepoints in doors, allowin only 1 enemy to pass through instead of the whole groups of enemies (big tactical deal).

But find a good corner, and set up your shield. Next activate your shield and medical generators, and you have a well protected heal and restoration point, that dosent get shot down in seconds.

In rare cases you can even be so lucky that your covershield decides to move, and pushing the enemy backwards (great fun).

I had my cover shield actually move upwards...was odd and thought it was a glitch with it moving.

I never used it too much. Until the Breen series came out. That first boss fight was alot easier when I could break sight and heal up.

Cover Shield works as a good prophylactic.

No, seriously - you use Cover Shields in doorways or when enemy mobs are too silly to walk around it.

On my engineer, I toss up a cover shield and then place generators behind it - I pop out from behind the cover shield basically wipe guys who don't realize what's going or why I'm getting healed.

The big problem with cover shields is that your boffs hide behind them and don't leave.

I'm too busy focusing-fire with the Y key and maximizing flank attacks to use cover shields, but I use cover shields in Big Dig and other rare cases where you just need to scan something.
