Deep Space Nine things we'd like to see

So with all the great TOS rewards coming out I've found myself thinking about my all time favorite show wich is deep space nine. I wanted to start a thread where we can all share little things from the show we'd like to see ingame. This can be ships, clothing, food and drink, holosuites, Vedeks, Kai's, the klingon restaurant, the prophets. I'm sorry I don't have a big concrete proposal, I just want ds9 fans coming up with ideas together.

What is doable within the marges of the game? What Ds9 area's do we like to see added to the station? Should there be more social mini games?

Let's discuss how can get the Ds9 feeling represented in STO

    I'd like to see a Bajoran militia uniform.

    Before you say that's one sided, I'd point out that the uniform was worn by Supervisor Odo in the Mirror Universe with the addition of a Klingon-Cardassian Alliance belt. Beyond that, both factions already have pants and boots that work so all it takes, really, is a shirt, a badge, and an extra belt for the Klingon version.

    I'd also like to see a variety of Ferengi jackets sold for latinum. Maybe a fairly modest two tone one for cheap, all the way up to a gaudy one in four tones with a variety of neck pieces for lots of latinum, emphasizing the premium Ferengi place on gaudiness.

    To be honest, I'd just like to see lots of NPC starship traffic around DS9. To make it feel like a galactic hub of sorts.

    Approach, docking, un-docking, warping out, trade convoys entering and exiting the wormhole. You get the idea :D

    the WORMHOLE! I want to be able to look out the window of the Promenade and see it opening and closing.

    Good ideas! yes and Sisko's return could work very well for STO. Ds9 had an open ending so let STO continue it!

    Sisko being carted off to the Celestial Temple was like Frodo and the Elves heading to the West in Lord of the Rings. It was a metaphor for death ;)

    We need missions concerning the prophets. We could have one wich starts with an opened orb, and ends with it closing, the whole mission being an orb experience

    Sickbay, DS9 needs a proper Sickbay.

    Sliding DS9 Doors to Quarks!

    Ships should be present when you look outside the windows, just like on Earth Space Dock, which then got removed and now there is one Ship again on Tribble... no idea what is going on with that feature but DS9 needs it!

    Runabouts need to fly arround all the time!

    The Wormhole should not just open for no reason, there should be ships coming through !


    One day i want to fly through the Wormhole to the other side!....
    and i mean FLY through it!
    NOT [ Press F ] to Zone.


    I want to see the DS9 Fleetaction touched up and included in the dailys for 3 Emblems (i have still not finished the spacepart of that mission! It allways was empty when i went there...)


    More NPC Shops with higher end gear.

    We do have one mission where we meet the prophets in a vision.

    With the celebrity that Sisko carried with the Bajorans, maybe some sort of tribute like a statue or photograph of him somewhere on the station.

    Agreed on the Bajoran militia uniforms, and NPC ship traffic.

    There have been a few of these threads, but I don't mind. I'd like to see DS9 get some love too, so I'll say again some of the things I've stated before plus some new ideas

    Quark's
    -Sliding door. No separate instance. Or just leave it open as Quark's is always open in the game.

    -I'd like to hear ambient noise from Quark's when I am close to it on the Promenade.

    -Definately need Morn.

    -More NPCs around NPC game tables playing NPC games, besides just the one dabo wheel we play at.

    -Dart mini-game? Or at least some NPCs throwing darts.

    Promenade and Shops
    -Move the Cardassian tailor at ESD to DS9.

    -More NPCs in the other lounges/restaurants, as well as throughout the Promenade. I always pictured the Promenade traffic to be something akin to a major international airport.

    -I'd like to hear more ambient noise of people taking (like on Deferra), from the bars and lounges, etc.

    -I'd like to see a Ferengi and a human child hanging out on the second level overlooking the Promenade, just as a nod to Jake and Nog.

    -Space traffic and wormhole seen through the viewports.

    -More Bajorans, given the proximity to Bajor. Maybe some in militia uniforms but also some in civvies and starfleet uniforms (Bajor is now a Federation member after all).

    Ops
    -Move the Captain (Kirkland (sp?)) into "Sisko's Office" and allow us to visit him there.

    DS9 Exterior
    -Random NPC ships docking and undocking from the various ports around the station, as well as extra NPC traffic in general.

    -Update the diologue box of the docking control officer and take out the extra button click. Especially annoying when you are leaving.

    The wormhole itself has never looked right to me. The special effects for it on the show had more... depth, I suppose? Maybe it's just the perspective of it in STO, always looks like you're viewing it from straight ahead when that was rarely, if ever, the case during the series.

    As for the Bajoran militia, I'd assumed they had been absorbed into Starfleet by now. But I'd like to see the uniforms regardless, including Kira's season seven variant if possible.

    Bajor's part of the Federation, so Starfleet handles their security needs now, and controls the station. Why would the Militia be running around DS9?

    ...Seeing Morn in Quarks would be awesome. Heck, seeing Quark in Quarks would be awesome.

    Sisko's return would make an awesome weekly series...

    This, improving the overall quality of the entire station..the whole feel of it. More ambience, better lighting, better sound effects and improved look. Some thing worth adding to the above list are these:

    -Change background of the space map, in late DS9 it was shown as being darker/w purple background and better/darker lighting and shadows.

    After they tear down ESD, they need to tear down DS9 and give it a good polishing...

    how about a fleet action when where you can fight klingons and gem'ada

    like in the show. Like to see some more lifer in it, it siskos office open, security open and see the holding cells,

    Love Quark to be there and kira ect. How about mission from Quark like smuggle something to him.

    Also like the idea of sisko coming back I hate open ending, u just have to imagine that he did come back. but would love a conclusion as there not going to make a film. An sure Avery would do a voice over for it to.

    What would be best find a way to get Jadzia back, its startrek it can be done.....

    Also like to see more of Voyager's crew. how about a mission from admiral Janway etc

    This is what this game is lacking i.e the crew from the series

    Why are they adding Vulcan and Andorian ships when their needs are taken care of by Starfleet? Not saying I disagree with you, but if they're adding those ships, chances are they'll still have Bajoran militia on DS9.

    I would like to see a weekly series devoted to the Bajorans/Cardassians, and maybe even have Sisko make an appearence (voiced by Avery Brooks of course ;) ).

    I would like to think that because of the debacle that was Betazoid during the Dominion War that Federation worlds would take some interest in protecting their own planets on top of what ever security Starfleet provides. Similar to the National Guard in the US.

    There are no Bajoran uniforms because there is no more Bajoran Militia, they were absorbed into StarFleet after Bajor joined the Federation after the Dominion War.

    As for the return of the Sisko he already has returned. And is living peacefully on Bajor with his wife Cassidy (assuming they are still alive in the year 2409).

    Now those story lines were in the DS9 relaunch novels. And traditionally the books haven't been considered canon as they use to be all separate stories and they often contradicted each other. But all that changed after DS9 ended and the reluach books were launched. With each book contributing to the larger story arc and having continuity between all the novels.

    And after the dismal abomination that was Nemesis helped kill the franchise and effectively ended the live action 24th century. The novels have become all that is left of Star Trek. The relaunch novels of post Nemesis: TNG, DS9, VOY, the Titan novels, Star Fleet Corps of Engineers, and a few others are all considered to be cannon now.

    Now STO has used a few elements from the Novels in the past 10 years but they have ignored a few big things like the Destiny trilogy and the Borg invasion of the Federation.







    Now as for what I would like to see in the DS9 station:

    I would like to see it scaled down to a slightly less TRIBBLE giant size. And no longer looking like Super Mario Brothers Big Word level. But that is a problem with all the interiors in this game.

    If possible having Quarks open to the Promenade at both levels. And adding Holosuits. But after our ships get Holodecks.

    Change how we get onto the station, either beam into Ops or dock with the station and walk on to it in the docking ring

    Change the lay out of the station and have three instances to visit:

    -ops which has ops and the commanders office
    -The Promenade the main social location and has Quarks, the infirmary, the tailor, the security office, etc.
    -The docking ring which has the bank, the market, ship yard stuff etc

    And multiple turbolifts that can move you between the three locations, as well as the Corridors for you to walk from the Promenade to the docking ring if you want.

    I don't know about anyone but I'd like to see the Defiant docked at the Docking Ring or Flying around near DS9.
    There is only one mission you see the Defiant.

    I think (not entirely sure) that Federation planets still have their own Security Forces to handle local police matters, investigations, etc.

    There is indication that Vulcan maintained an independent police force.

    Besides which, we have pre-Federation Starfleet uniforms coming and Mirror Universe uniforms.

    I think a really cool aspect of developing Bajoran militia uniforms is the "two for one" aspect that they double as Mirror Universe Klingon/Cardassian Alliance uniforms with the addition of a belt.

    Some of those phaser cannon SFX from DS9 would be nice, the current SFX are TRIBBLE.

    speaking of the exterior id like it scaled down to an appropriate size i mean its HUGE the docking pylons are bigger than a galaxy

    lets see if we had a series at ds9 (either based on the Terran Empire or Spoon ehads)

    If its againts the Terrans...

    Mission 1 Reward: agonizer (close range weapon)

    Mission 2: Mirror Alliance/Terran Uniform peice (badge)

    Mission 3: Somthing that breeds a tribble with a dagger in it.

    Mission 4: Some crazy cool looking Terran rifle.

    Mission 5: Purple Hull and ISS Prefix
    Intendant Kira's Outfit
    Regent Wolfs deadly glove
    Ds9 Phaser Rifle


    And if were up againts the Spoon heads.

    Mission 1: Spoon head rifle

    Mission 2: Somthing that breeds a crazy anti spoon head tribble

    Mission 3: Spoon head ground holo kit (the spoon head generator that spawns a stupid ammount of holo npcs)

    Mission 4: Spoon head vowel (sp?) pet

    Mission 5: Spoon head Pistol
    Jem Hadar Carbine
    Spoon head Title

    and 1 of the following........

    Jem'hadar Tactical Officer
    Cardassian Engineering Officer
    Vorta Science Officer
