Feeling lonely

Hey all,

So I've been playing for the better part of a month, and I have to say I'm loving the game thus far and with Season 3 coming soon I'm even more thrilled...

Although, aside from some gameplay quirks here and there, there's one thing that is constantly on my mind - how empty the game feels.

I don't know if anyone feels like this, but I can never get anyone to group with and there is hardly any chatter. Including zone chat :(. In all honesty it feels barren, almost like I'm in a single player game. And I don't think it's population that's in question here. I think it's the community flat out. Flame me if you wish, but I've repeatedly whispered people in my level range and not to mention trying to spark convo in Zone and I almost never get a response.

I was in a fleet for a while, but left because out of the 20 peeps on none would speak a word...

It's not even that I want people to talk to me necessarily but it's rather hard to believe that NOBODY has some item their selling or a question/mission that their trying to get done and need help with it.

Is it me, or what? I think we need to have a bit more helpful community or else people are going to turn themselves off to the game.

Do you play Klingons or Federation? When I play my beloved Klinks that is normal feeling of been lonely :)we don't get as many players as the Federation does. In addition many regular Klingon (old-timers) players usually mind their own game play unless you directly ask for assistance.

If you play Federation then you should be able to easily find team or join one with no problem most of the time. Try going to social and then click find team. Or just ask on open chat channel.

PS. If you need help or want to team up just PM or add me to your friend list. I enjoy to play in team and solo :) add me to your friend list @Mr.Chris

Actually after receiving lots of "go away" and "do your own stuff" chatter after kindly asking for team fun, I like being lonely more than being verbally attacked.

I do that because I've gotten all kinds of weirdos asking for teaming. Once you team up the first thing they do is beg for either a) credits, b) items or c) cybersex. Yes you've read c correctly, like I said a lot of weird people out there. That's the main reason I stopped playing my Fed female toons... was getting way too weird.

Funniest tell I ever got was: "Hey can I get 2 million credits please? I'll add you to my friends list then"... ok what do you guys figure I said to that idiot?

    lol..

Sometimes I wish I could set up an auto-reply to tells that goes like so...

I am not a chic, I just play one because I like staring at her a$$ while I run around around spacedock.
I have no credits for you, and I have no interest in joining your fleet.

Reminds me the old days of Everquest when they put in the ability to 'inspect' another person.
    /tell Hey man, that's a sweet sword!
/reply Yes it is, no I'm not going to give it to you, and no I'm not going to sell it to you.
/tell How do I get one?
/reply Step one is gaining 60 more levels, the rest you can look up online.

    Mr.Chris I'll add you for sure. I play Klink I want a carrier :)

That makes more sense that the pop on our side is less then the feds so perhaps I'll lighten up and accept the fact.

    Atleast I got a response here :)

    Thanks for the posts guys.

I usually reject team invites because I have no desire to play on anything but Normal. I get plenty of enjoyment as-is and don't care for extra challenge or better loot drops.

Yeah, with the auto-team up I'd have expected to be doing the weekly episode missions with others. Did they change the default or something?

    Also:
I too enjoy being a GIRL. (Guy In Real Life).

Whenever someone begs me for credits, I'll throw them up in the window, and then go afk without clicking accept.

I don't think weekly work on auto-team up, I could never get it to work that way. So you have to create team first assuming all team members have weekly missions if not share that mission. I think 2nd Devidian mission (Spin The Wheel) can't be played on a team but perhaps it was bugged or something I haven't try it again so can't be sure. Other than that all Breen weekly missions I was able to team up and play.

I'm a GIRL as well, just to be different. I'm planning on having 3 Female Captains, one for each career track. I've even picked out names for them

I think a large part of the problem for this is the way the actual tv series were structured (at least when it comes to Trek fan players which, I'm guessing, is the vast majority). In any of teh series they only rarely had help from any other ships/crews in fighting. Most of the time they went solo. So a lot in the game think along the same lines. Just my opinion.

Funnily enough, as content is added, people will be spread more thin - unless there's a server-wide event (like the weeklies).

That's why I'm glad that the devs chose to integrate UGC into the game world (so people are still running around and doing their thing) but I realize that adding the custom maps means more instances that players can be in.

It makes me glad that social areas are being used so frequently (like Drozana) which help people see parts of the galaxy they hadn't before.
