This isn't the "gambling is addictive thread".

This is just an attempt to make sense of the random chaos of this mini-game.

What is your play strategy?
What have been the Lucky Dabo numbers you've witnessed?
What would you ask Cryptic to change in Dabo playing options?

My own Dabo Dabbler answers:

I play one orbit, but have since changed to "pattern recognition".

An orbit is where I incrementally change the 3 number slots clockwise starting at 0-1-2. One slot is changed one digit at a time for each bet. This systematic approach continues for one complete orbit around the Dabo table in 30 bets. My average is about 3 Dabos! per Orbit.

This was a suitable strategy for beginners who just want to earn enough to get their first holo-emitter. My first one was the cargo ship. It was just one-use and only lasted 15 minutes. There were further Accolades to pursue to justify my continuation at Dabo!

Pattern recognition is noting the graphics of the three concentric rings can achieve a perfect alignment with the golden Ferengi symbol paying out the top prize of $200,000 gpl. Everyone wins something during this event. The perfect alignment is where all three rings icons are in matched in all 360 degrees.

My current strategy is to watch the number combinations of the top three prizes, ignoring those combinations where one is obscurred by a Dabo table arch over the wheels. I write them down and cycle through them, or sometimes camp on one three number combination until I get a major win. I will camp if I am seeing the inner or middle ring combination I am looking for land frequently on my numbers. This is a theory I have I am close to the winning alignment that will result during that evening of play. Recently I've had a $100,000 gpl win on 0-9-20. It wasn't a perfect alignment event, but good enough to justify ending the session.

Cycles of Dabo: You'll no doubt observe if the wheels are rotating a random number of rotations during each round of Dabo that an alignment of two or three of the rings occurs if you play Dabo long enough in a session. I've noted these alignments occur regularly enough to encourage longer sessions in hopes of the perfect alignment event.

Random Dabos occur often enough between the alignment events to keep things interesting.

Edit for brevity and longer Dabo experience.
