While we're on the subject of Franklin Drake - who I wish I had been allowed to kill in "Under the Cover of Night" - let's talk about his KI counterpart, K'men. Not only does he disguise us as a D7 from the 23rd century, he TELLS us that we're being sent back as a D7 belonging to the House of Duras. Did you not know we'd have someone who HATES the Duras get in our faces?
While this may come as a surprise to anyone who did not do this on the Fed side, as someone who did that side first, I have come to the conclusion that "Klingon Intelligence", in the case of this gentleman, is a contradiction in terms.
How should he have known?
What if he knew and the alternative was worse? like you belong to the house that attacks you and since the chief knows every captain in his house he gets extra suspicious?
He could've picked a minor unknown house and sent us as a crappy Bird of Prey or freighter.. K'men is slightly stupider then Drake... unless you consider that both wanted the agent sent back to die there. thus cleaning up some of the mess automatically, but we out performed their expectations...
I dunno, I mean, when you do it on Fed side, as soon as you warp into the system, you are accosted by a ship that pretty much arbitrarily decides to attack you because your ship happens to look like a ship that attacked a nearby colony. Forgot how "diplomacy" worked for Feddies back then, lolz.
You admonish K'men for not knowing that enemies of Duras would be skulking about the sector, why not also lay into Drake a bit for disguising you as a ship that looks like one belonging to criminals?
Both of 'em kinda dropped the ball a bit here.
And since it's already happened you'd think they'd know it was a bad idea. On the other hand maybe we've done this before and this is the only way it worked out.
Precise date and time wasn't what either Drake or K'men said would occur with the time travel. It's basically a "roundabout" time in 2267. We just happen to show up on the day B'Vat goes on a hunt.
You want the reality of it? It's this - the Devs wanted to make the end aspect of the mission a bit less of a cake walk for you, me and everyone else who's playin' this game. If you got a better idea of what should have been done, then by all means, apply for a job at Cryptic and throw your ideas at them.

At which case it makes them even more stupid...
It's the House of Duras. They've been a pain in the Klingon Empire's side for centuries. That isn't new news, but rather ancient history.

Could we of been set up by Drake so that we we were the start of the downfall of the Duras family ?
Is Drake a time-agent from the future? Or part of another time traveling faction
Did we just start another timeline?
Were Drake and K'men working together?
God I hate time travel 101
Captain Paws or am I?

Precisely this.
