Cryptic should let the Federation and Klingon Empire make peace again, it's clear that J'mpok is a backstabbing *******. Re-forge the legendary alliance between the Federation and Klingons and focus on a new pack of enemies: The Borg, Devidians and maybe the Breen (or a reborn Dominion?). Just a thought.
silly orion... what would be the point of pvp then :O need to wait for more playable factions to arrive before we try to make peace.
PvP could be friendly matches like Fed vs Fed. And for factions... plenty to choose from for PvE. And PvP needs a more interesting revamp to be a real "breaker" for a plan like that anyway. We'll see what Cryptic's gonna do I suppose.

KvK. FvF. PvP doesn't need a point because it's not story-based, it's just queue and pew...
The real problem would be that the earlier missions directly involve the war. They'd all have to be rewritten. Don't think Cryptic would be on board for that.
Would be nice to see Fed and KDF ships fighting side-by-side though. It would also mean that future weeklies would require less effort to provide a convincing reason for both sides to be involved.
It should be noted that when you could do this on Tribble, you could not fight other players, just NPCs. For some reason, most things treated you as a fellow Fed, only the NPCs were hostile. Which is odd.

I know - but I am SOOOOOOOOO for this - like a random warp gate opens between the Klingon SB and the Fed ESD that allows people to jump through - and mayhem ensues. It looks like fun!
If some of you remember the last day of open beta, it was exactly like that Klingon players could go anywhere and we did. In some places it was Klingon massacre by feds and in other places it was the other way around let's just say that Klingons were outnumbered like 20 to 1 or more so it wasn't pretty.
But I was cloaked and waiting at Vulcan system and sure enough a fed sci captain show up and unsuspecting he was going to beam down to planet. But before that happen I jumped him and the rest wasn't pretty let's just say his ship was destroyed. I don't think he knew what hit him
But I would give anything for carebear hunting if it was only possible. That was awesome the anticipation of the unknown it was very exciting.
btw... Gozer Scott and I have a goal to get KDF access to all sectors as soon as we can get all the details worked out. So this will happen eventually.

I'd be interested in seeing how this is going to work out without becoming a massive gank fest. Or enjoyable for people that don't PvP. I've dabbled in PvP a bit recently and it was ok....but i don't want to do it all of the time.

Does this mean you'll add in the Orion and Nausicaan homeworlds too? Since they're in Federation space.
There's enough Klingon griefers on DS9 and Drozana and now you want them on ESD? Granted, it's not just Klingons but it's annoying enough dealing with the Fed griefers already on ESD and you want to add to that?
I'd be ok with it if it was a neutral area where you couldn't attack each other and certain items/powers were disabled like on DS9/Drozana.

Klingons can go to DS9? ... That one is a new one on me.
Have you pvp'd as a fed or against a fed? If this would be a real war, within a few weeks the kdf would be drinking @ Starbucks in the sf headquarters.

as I said I'd like to see how this is going to work...will feds be able to go to Qo'nos?
All I can think that would happen is a lot of griefing and ganking in ESD. Even if klingons could not attack other players only NPCs they'll kill the NPCs and some will just do it over and over again to PO other players. Plus there are players that have zero interest in PVP. ESD is the first "base" you go to in game. New players getting smacked around before they can even go see Quinn isn't a good thing.
If its a no attack but they can go there kinda thing it won't make sense. Why would klingons be allowed at ESD if they're at war?
I don't understand why they would want to go to ESD anyway. Theres nothing there that they can't get in klingon territory. I'd rather see contested areas where both factions can go (with the knowledge that entering that area flags you for PVP) and more PVE content for klingons.
Hmmm... how about introducing a bi-weekly KDF Feature: If the Feds don't win a minimum number of FvK matches per 2 weeks, they open up a door for KDF players to get a mission to invade ESD and hunt down as many feds as they can
Hey, it could be fun - those killed (from either side) could be put in a 'time out' box (medical center) if not revived within 10 seconds, for the duration of the assault mission (short, say 5 minutes tops). Could even add an exchange terminal to the medical center so peeps wouldn't get bored.
When it comes time to destroy ESD and revamp Qo'noS, I want to add:
I think the current ESD should use a set of engineering tricks to relocate TO Qo'noS.
Anyone who was serious about the Decipher cardgame knows how much punch a station can pack and that they are mobile. (DS9's premiere really introduced the idea.) That will keep the action of the eventual event focused if we have ESD orbiting Qo'noS, with ground battles both aboard ESD and Qo'noS.
I think if you do it right, the battle of ESD and Qo'noS can be a persistent PvP fleet action that people can go back and relive (maybe via the Guardian of Forever?)
You just start laying the seeds with people gathering materials to make an artificial wormhole, Fed-side... and maybe Klingon-side, they're competing for these resources because someone in the KDF realizes something is up.
At a certain point in the event, an unstable wormhole from Earth to Qo'noS opens up. Earth Space Doick engages thrusters and plows through.
And you have a crazy memorable battle with ESD orbiting Qo'noS, raining destruction as a rogue admiral is intent on ending the war through extreme methods, even if it means kamikazing a starbase into Qo'noS.
Both sides could get events to save civilians first and have to fight past eachother to stop the attack, with Klingons boarding ESD and Federation having to access controls on Qo'noS to shut down the rogue admiral's assault.
So you have something where both sides are fighting to preserve life but they're thrust into seeing eachother as the enemy.
Ooh. And for fun, maybe you could have a bit of fun with the Qo'noS revamp and have large chunks of ESD embedded in the surface of the expanded Qo'noS.
btw... Gozer Scott and I have a goal to get KDF access to all sectors as soon as we can get all the details worked out. So this will happen eventually.
Based on all of the griefing and ganking that took place on ESD over the past week ... I would really hope that it would be set up in such a way that those of us who dislike PvP won't be forced to contend with it every time we log in.

P.S.: I wanna go to Risa!!!

I still have the right to decloak > alpha > boom > recloak any unsuspecting feddie though.
I
The cake is a lie
O.o you have been away from 10Forward too long. You are starting to talk like them.
*points* UNCLEAN HEATHEN!

We get to attack you so we can camp you for hours like we did during the end of beta event.
I don't think you KDF guys are really ready to come to Sol if we get to fight back

so fed's are going to be losing the war then?

Call em war games.
Ahhh ... I know the feeling.
This is how I felt when I tranwarped back to the home world on Tribble last weekend and ended up outside ESD.
And the action aboard the spacedock .... some of my fondest in game memories so far.

Yeah, that's what it seems like. Can't we go to Omega Leonis, instead?

Can't travel there, but there are klingon npc's hanging out there and some klingon vendors.
:::: shrugs .... There are also some Klingons captaining Federation starships in Federation space as well.
Not the same thing as Klingons of the Empire on DS9.
