Unusual Cryptic Point Amounts

Due to various sales or buying decisions, I'm left with an odd amount of Cryptic Points. I have XX7, and sure, I could buy a few minor items, or buy more points, but in the end, the best I could hope for is 7 points leftover. It would be nice if there were a way to use them, because until a sale comes along and everything has weird point values again, they're useless.

My suggestion:

Allow us, if we have below 80 points (the cheapest item in the store) to turn those points into EC, or emblems, or some sort of in-game currency. This would prevent "richest real-money player wins" schemes, since you can't buy points in totals less than 500, and would have to buy C Store items to get to 80 points; and would also allow people with weird totals like myself to use the points they spent money on.

Other suggestions:

Allow selling no more than 9 CP: eliminates odd number, doesn't allow excessive buying of currency.

Sell batteries for 1 CP each. No currency-for-money issues, and a reasonably useful item.

1-time-use items: temporary stat boost, temporary xp/reward boosts, available for small amounts of CP.

A billion times no. No buying currencies of any kind for any amount.

Besides that, it's normal that this type of stuff happens. It happens in almost everything that has their own point system for a very very good reason :p

I'd be fine with this if you changed it thusly:

For any amount of Cryptic Points not ending in 0, you can trade for an equal number of Emblems. For example, if you have 347 CP, you can trade in 7 CP for 7 Emblems. 80 or less would be far too much, but I agree something needs to be doable about the odd numbers you can be left with from sales.

Or they could just sell ship batteries in the C-store for 1CP each. Because you aren't going to be buying a bunch of batteries in the C-Store just to sell them on the exchange. But it solves the odd CP issue.

    Problem solved.

Great idea! I've updated the OP to reflect other ideas.

perhaps they need to add some low cost stuff

    1 time use items

temp engine boost, gives +50 speed in sector space for 4 hours
Exp boost, get +15% extra experience for 2 hours
loot boost...+20% increased chance of rare loot drop and so on

These can be sold in the C store VERY cheaply

    5-15 points each

DING, we have a winner! It's called Marketing. They want you to decide you need to buy more since you've got some, but not enough to buy anything.

I seriously doubt this will ever change. :(
