Mini Fleet Idea

As an idea for future expansion I would like to see a mini fleet available to players up to a maximum of 4 ships capped at 1 level below you.
To cope with a max of 4 support ships you would need to be able to purchase 2 ships of the same type as opposed the to the current max of 1.

Lt - no additional ships
Lt Cdr - 1 ship (tier 1)
Cdr - 2 ships (tier 2)
Capt - 2 ships (tier 3)
RALH - 3 ships (tier 4)
RAUH - 3 ships (tier 4)
VA - 4 ships (tier 5)
etc...

If you don't want to purchase a ship you get the option of a fleet support ship (like the Security Escort for an away team).
This finally provides a use for the ships you aquire as you level up - you even have the option of using the runabout in your fleet, although it wouldn't last too long...

Mini Fleet Ships:
Are kept in your existing ship slots, you equip them as you equip your current ships (weapons, devices, bridge officers) - although the ships are capped below you, you can still equip the same rank gear on them.
In order to provide a Captain for your ships you promote a Bridge Officer to a Non Player Captain.
Have bridges that you can visit and could be used as a location for a mission e.g. "Captain, one of your ships, "random", has been disabled - you need to lead an away team to repel boarders/fix a problem/whatever" :-)
The ability to set a formation would be useful, either set formations or free form (a bonus would be the ability to split the fleet into two teams, so you designate a lead ship for the 2nd "wing" so you can attack two or more targets at the same time).

Non Player Captain:
Has the same powers available as a player captain at the same rank - buffed by a minimal skill tree to replace their existing skill set.
Can not be used as members of your away team (this has to be drawn from your own ship).
Promotion to Non Player Captain is one-way.

Fleet management:
This means that at max level you will have 4 tier 5 ships with a total of 24 additional officers that need training and career advancement - however as they are not eligable for ground missions they lose their requirement for weapons, shields, armour and device slots (otherwise players could use them as additional bank slots).
Transfer of Bridge Officers to other ships is one way (although you can shuffle them around between your fleet and maybe have a few "spare" slots to allow greater flexability)

Space missions:
These currently scale for teams so the tech is already in place for a larger fleet.
As the maximum cap for a team is 5, if you join a team you will be asked to select the ships you want to bring with you, as you currently do for teamed ground missions.
When you die however, instead of respawning your support ships can repair you (and vice-versa) as in the ground combat model.

PvP:
Treated the same as STFs, no none player ships in the current model.

Space Fleet actions:
Same as ground fleet actions - no none player ships.
