I love the Type 4 windows, but hate the Type 4 escape pods on the Sovereign.
Ideally i want to be able to use the Type 4 windows with the Type 1 Escape Pods.
I mean its really not that hard to do.
If its too much work to make seperate options for pods and windows, then just make textures of all variants.
For example:
"Type 1 Windows" with "Type 1 Escape Pods"
"Type 1 Windows" with "Type 2 Escape Pods"
"Type 1 Windows" with "Type 3 Escape Pods"
"Type 1 Windows" with "Type 4 Escape Pods"
"Type 2 Windows" with "Type 1 Escape Pods"
"Type 2 Windows" with "Type 2 Escape Pods"
"Type 2 Windows" with "Type 3 Escape Pods"
"Type 2 Windows" with "Type 4 Escape Pods"
"Type 3 Windows" with "Type 1 Escape Pods"
"Type 3 Windows" with "Type 2 Escape Pods"
"Type 3 Windows" with "Type 3 Escape Pods"
"Type 3 Windows" with "Type 4 Escape Pods"
"Type 4 Windows" with "Type 1 Escape Pods"
"Type 4 Windows" with "Type 2 Escape Pods"
"Type 4 Windows" with "Type 3 Escape Pods"
"Type 4 Windows" with "Type 4 Escape Pods"
I mean how hard can that really be? Considering all the windows/escape pods seem to use the same layout template.
Sure it might get a bit cluttered, but at least it would give people A LOT more options to customize to their hearts content.
I'd like to see better 'Klingon' windows (not just colored slashes see kar'fi, and orion cruiser) as well as Klingon escape pods instead of the exact same texture has the federation, Even recoloring them brown or green would be great.
Chances are this is like basic ship textures and defectors. CapnLogan has basically confirmed that's a no-go, trying to divorce deflector type and ship texture type, as it would be too much work for too little benefit, so I'd imagine this would be a similar situation.
You've never seen the over abundance of windows in a brel or hegta bop have you. The brel's entire main hull is over saturated with windows, and the hegta's long neck has dozens of very small trill like windows on it. This isn't a feddie pleasure craft, this is a warbird damnit!
Anyways, for those who like windows, have at it, for those who don't, I'd like the option.
PS: Since this was originally a feddie thread, it was not my intention to derail it. I'll support more fed windows/escape pod options if it means the devs take a look at this from both sides of the fence.
I go with type 2 exclusively because the escape pods seem to fit in with the rest of my ships with it, but i'd much prefer different windows. Same with deflectors regardless of what CapnLogan thinks.

No, I haven't. And I'm sure you are correct and it looks like lattice-work holding the neck together. But I just found the "we don't need lifeboats, damn it" funny.

I'm a klingon on a klingon bird of prey, ramming speed is the only hail mary solution

Which is why my proposed alternative with more texture options would certainly work.
"Type 1 Windows" with "Type 1 Escape Pods"
"Type 1 Windows" with "Type 2 Escape Pods"
"Type 1 Windows" with "Type 3 Escape Pods"
"Type 1 Windows" with "Type 4 Escape Pods"
"Type 2 Windows" with "Type 1 Escape Pods"
"Type 2 Windows" with "Type 2 Escape Pods"
"Type 2 Windows" with "Type 3 Escape Pods"
"Type 2 Windows" with "Type 4 Escape Pods"
"Type 3 Windows" with "Type 1 Escape Pods"
"Type 3 Windows" with "Type 2 Escape Pods"
"Type 3 Windows" with "Type 3 Escape Pods"
"Type 3 Windows" with "Type 4 Escape Pods"
"Type 4 Windows" with "Type 1 Escape Pods"
"Type 4 Windows" with "Type 2 Escape Pods"
"Type 4 Windows" with "Type 3 Escape Pods"
"Type 4 Windows" with "Type 4 Escape Pods"
I can't see this taking much time away at all from any good texture artist.
I know i certainly could do it.

I thought all Klingon ships dumped the escape pods after leaving dock.
I have wanted window/pod seperation for a long time. Same with deflector/hull seperation. I still do not see it happening thanks to someone at Cryptic deciding it wasnt worth the time spent seperating the two textures that should never have been combined in the first place.

Like i said, an easy alternative for them is to make texture variants of them all.
It can't possibly be that hard or time consuming to do.
As a side note, windows in spaceships are stupid...a senseless weak point in the hull when you could use cameras.
1. they are not made of glass... but... super stable scifi stuff
2. IF they brake there are emergency shields popping up, slow enough so a crewmen gets sucked out into space as seen in ST Nemesis but the function is there.
3. what do you do when power fails? at least you can look out a window...

Why does it bug you so much?
And is this the only thing you want fixed?
Can we have a no windows or escape pods option? My bird of prey would look much better.
And can we name it Titanic?

Consider how people are always screaming for customization.

I use mine to "transfer" PoWs into the nearest star.
Ah! like Klingon Easy Bake Bake ovens. I love it!

Nah load them up with explosives and they become improvised missiles that the Feds will think twice before shooting :-p
For those that say this is not a Klingon tactic I point to the DS9 Episode where Worf was framed for shooting a civvy klink freighter.
And your point would be?
also the escape pods from klingon ships have to go
and FED escape Pod's on Kel'Fhiri ships are just wrooooong.

If my alternative suggestion of just having more Texture variants for the window option then this mock up
picture would be: "Type 4 Windows" with "Type 1 Escape Pods"
