Excessive bloom fix, WHEN?

Is the Excessive bloom thats been in the game for i dont know how many months now ever going to get fixed?

It really hurts my eyes when the hull or a planet just glares bright white in my face.
And if i were to turn down the bloom less than 100% it makes other areas that are not overbright look lackluster.

Btw, SOL currently suffer from this, when banking my Galaxy Class so the sun's light hits the top its like its hitting a 100% reflective surface...

Perhaps you should play with your monitor or even video card settings. Honestly, I have my bloom setting at 150%, and the only thing that is insanely bright is during random exploration missions... and I come upon a random planet that looks like a great bloody flaming ball. Even then, it's not bright enough to hurt my eyes... it's just odd to appear like your flying straight into the sun. LOL

    My settings are perfectly fine.

It is mainly the exploration systems that suffer from it, and a few others.

What kind of card are you using? I'm just curious.

My upper bloom clamp values are a bit high too.

    ATi Radeon HD 3870 here.

I have to agree, try wearing an ambassdor's uniform around ESD, it's blinding in some spots. Even with it turned down to like 50%. I'd have to put the blame squarly on how their bloom effects interact with bright whites. I think it's probably a bug. Because there is no way they intended white uniforms to be as blinding as they are, or maybe the lighting on ESD. And in the systems you're speaking about the suns. I hate those planets that are just pure bright white.

The irritating thing with the way it's currently set-up is that deflector, warp/impulse engine and bussard collector glows are tied to the in-game bloom.

Which is pretty bloody annoying. If I want them to actually glow then I have to suffer with intense blinding light everytime I so much as look at a planet, star or use any ability that makes my ship glow.

The ability to make these parts of your starship glow should be made an independent option from bloom.

Here's what my ship looks like without the glow: Galaxy-class No Glow

    And with it: Galaxy-class Glow
