It's been a while since I played STO. I came back to find the Hegh'ta wing position has been changed, and it looks pants-on-head TRIBBLE. I realize that it swings back into the old position during combat, but is there any option to just change it back to the old fixed-wings instead?
no, they may change it to be optional in the future but for the time being its the way it is.
i do think they need to change it so that once you enter a map the wings are down and stay down or at least a long cool-down so that the moment combat ends they dont flap up again.
I do agree that there should be something to configure the animation, even though I personally love it. But really? You're going to quit the game over it? Don't get too dramatic now.
Well, don't forget to flap your wings on the way out :P
Just kidding, but really, Klingons went on for ages about adding the animation to the wings as it is what they do on TV. You can go to the shipyard and play about with designs until you find one you like with the wings up and down.
It's no really hardship to spend 10 minutes sorting a desing you like, and lets face it, energy credits are so easy to earn, they might as well not be in game :P
If you're quitting a game because some wings are a bit ugly, you seriously need to reevaluate your gaming priorities.
Actually, I'm quite clear on my gaming priorities. Looking good is pretty much the only reason I have to play STO at this point. I sure as hell am not playing this game for amazing mission content and balanced game mechanics, LOL.
Whatever trips your trigger. Stay away forever or come back every other week. They don't care. They already have your money.
I could care less about the money since it was well within my means. But you're right, Cryptic does seem to care about money a whole lot more than everything else.

I don't know if you've been playing the new weekly missions, but they're among the best written stories so far...and we're getting them on a semi-regular basis.

Don't tell him that. Next Sat is the last one for around 2 months. You'll only make him angry when it proved to be untrue.

I've played the missions. The first series showed promise and potential. The second series are showing improvements as well. While I applaud the effort for quality, you have to admit that it's very little content being delivered.
We'll see what happens with UGC or foundry or whatever it's called now.
Are you serious? All this fuss on the position of the Wings? Is that what this game is all about to you the way the wings of your ship look?
It is how it is supposed to be, when the ship cruises it does so with wings at the cruise position when it fights the wings take the attack mode...Are you 3 years old or what?

I don't know what else to think reading this.
Did my choice impact you in any way? Did you even have to read this thread?
It's amazing how these forums generally deteriorate into personal attacks.

What would you rather see, a lot of poor half-assed missions or a handful of awesome ones that are almost worthy of a TOS or TNG episode? Personally, I'd choose quality over quantity.
And, no. You can't have both. Developing new episodic content takes time.
The variable geometry wings on the BOP bother the OP. I personally think its silly to quit the game over but berating this person and trying to get him to "see the light" is obviously not going to work.

Pause and think about why I mentioned UGC in that context.

Now there's a good idea.
