What happens when Devs see an Idea on the forums here that they REALLY like? I have seen a few times where a Dev will state they like an idea and will bring it to the team, but then we never hear about it again. Do the Devs ever forget about the things they wanted to look into? Would it be helpful if we made a comprehensive list of things we would like to see/do and trim down what doesn't fit what the dev's have in mind for the game development?
You seem to be very confused, because most of the changes that have been made to the game since launch are directly related to the feedback on the forums. The difficulty slider, more Klingon content, UGC, and many minor changes as well.

Not confused. I know some of the changes were directly from the forums. I'm curious about the ideas thrown about in regards to crafting, interiors, other tinkering related things. There are plenty of posts where they state they are going to bring the ideas back to thier meetings and noting is heard about it after. Then the thread dies.
There are a lot of very enthousiastic players out there, and there might be a way for them to have an organized way of giving a comprehensive list of ideas to improve the game, rather than random threads all over the place that get buried quickly. I think Darren tried this earlier, but my memory is fuzzy on that.
If a developer really liked an idea, I doubt they'd let it go. It might be just sitting on a whiteboard somewhere if it had to be pushed aside for more immediate projects or it could be on the horizon of longer term projects. But we're not privy to what the developers are working on so maybe they'd trash it when they realize it's just not possible.
I know in (another MMO) the Devs specifically stated that, while they do take ideas via suggestion, they can't directly indicate whether an implemented feature was a player suggestion due to "legal reasons."
Whether that's the case here, I have no idea, but still it's nice to know the devs listen.

Yeah i've seen similar, with some forums part of their ToS is that any idea's written on their forums automatcally belong to them and they don't have to provide compensation or recognition.
I wouldn't mind seeing a nice thread with the first few posts dedicated to collating the various idea's people have come up with. Some of the idea's posted here are amazing.
Generally speaking, when one of us likes an idea, we take it to the rest of the team. From there it starts going through the processes.
Do we really like this idea?
If so, do we like it enough to try and add it to the game?
If so, we'll look into how possible it is to do.
Then we start going through all sorts of other checks.
Eventually, that idea will either make it into the game. Become stalled while we wait for time/tech needed to implement it, or be labeled as not possible currently, but we may want to revisit it later. Or, we may decide that even though we really like this idea, and want to do it, that it's just not possible.
We have software we use internally to track ideas and tasks like this. As for why you may not hear about something after we state we like it, generally speaking, even if it's been dropped as a "not possible" we often still secretly harbor hopes and dreams to bring that idea to fruition at some point.
We just won't/can't talk about it until it's actually happening.
I'd imagine most of that stems from wanting to cut down on the posts that say "But you said X was coming!" when the actual statement from a dev was more along the lines of "We saw this cool idea and we're thinking about doing it."

That's a big part of it.
A part of my job (And anyone else who chooses to post on these forums from Cryptic) is to help manage your expectations.
For instance, it's not my job to sell you on Star Trek Online: The game you envision in your head. It's my job to keep you interested in and talking about Star Trek Online: The game we're actually making.
The great thing about the game we're actually making, is that you can all actually influence the direction the game goes! We work very hard to listen to you, and we definitely take your feedback to heart. It's a really awesome thing, and I know we're all very excited to continue to develop Star Trek Online with you.

So... you're saying I need to scream "Tribble Captains FTW!" louder?
Not only that, but you need to get lots of other people to scream with you.
Thanks,
Stormshade
Wait... do they also have to scream for Tribble Captains, or is random incoherent screaming on their part acceptable? Because I could probably arrange the latter more easily than the former.

Like the Dyson Sphere, lolz.
Good grief, that thing would take some kinda wizard to get into the game.

There's not one Dev that stopped by and bothered to comment on it (or any of the numerous related other threads that cropped up in the past) on the merits of the issue, or why it can/can't happen. This sadly makes me look at Stormshade's posts in this thread with a little jaded cynicism.
Somebody mentioned in a thread that the star chart would have made a nice trophey for completing the Breen series. One of the devs said he thought that was a great idea. It was in the patch that hit a week later.
So sometimes (if the stars are aligned) things can happed that quickly...

...And sometimes a Dev will say they like the idea. The feature will be added, much to the suggester's glee. Then in a later update, it will be removed, much to the suggester's great confoundation.

People will tell me I'm living in denial, but this why I choose to believe that Tribble Captains have yet to be confirmed...

hmmm that gives me a evil idea.
A Ninja Wizard, perhaps?
A crowd of people with vuvuzelas might work.
Well, in this thread about using existing concept art include more playable ships in the game (rather than playable easter eggs) we've had 10 pages of consolidated posts on that (and that doens't exclude the dozens of other threads on the same topic which were posted and forgotten) and we never got anykind of reply.
