So I put on my TOS uniforms for this episode for my Federation character. I start going down the halls. Then the patrols start shooting at me.
Really, first off Starfleet probably wouldn't shoot first and ask questions later. Second off I was dressed like them. They had no reason to shoot. Maybe escort me away or something and stun me if I refused.
My BOs were even perfectly disguised. They should have fallen for it.
They probably saw the ranking on your sleeve and thought it was odd an Admiral was on the station, especially running down halls in the middle of an emergency.
BTW, I had a moment the LT didn't like me taking apart his console and phasered me in the back, through the door.

Impossible. I did as Sisko did when he went back in time to the Enterprise. I put me as Lieutenant Rank, my second as Lieutenant Junior Grade and my other without rank (Ensign or lower I guess).
It would have been cool if the TOS uniforms did something, but then someone would complain about a C-Store item altering gameplay, etc. (even though you can get them for free). Also, have we seen any tech that could have been used to check what uniform choices are equipped? They might have to build that for next time.
I loved this mission, it REEKED of TOS cheese, and that was awesome! I felt like I was in an episode of TOS, especially when McCoy appeared. I can definitely say that I can now die happy. Now, your BOFFS could have attacked first, you know, if they where put on combat mode. I forgot to put them on passive and I got in a fight.
Simply put the mission engine has no idea what your wearing. It doesn't have access to this kind of information. So it's written for the other 99% of possible uniform options. That said, it's still a pity.
Here's to future mission tech that allows the mission to override default uniform options, or at least write dialog based on what your wearing.

That's the part I loved about it. The entire mission screamed classic Trek.

My Boffs didn't attack first. The uniforms simply have no effect. The stupidity of it all kind of ruined the mission for my Federation character.
Also... list of glitches:
1) The Starfleet Officers that might shoot you apparently have expose and exploit attacks. They vaporized one of my Boffs. I then used my tricorder to resurrect them lol. Man, medical science has gone a LONG way.
2) I locked them behind doors. They walk through the doors.
3) Mission didn't finish for some reason. Trying it again.

Sorry, but that the tech for that doesn't exist is obvious. You could just have done it like Worf and gone as a civilian, but you forced it. I can imagine that coding something that reads out what you wear and changes a mission according it would be a nightmare. And I'm pretty sure that even then people would try to force mistakes, like wearing a pink TOS uniform with TNG pants and a grass green WoK belt and complaining on the forums that they weren't asked any questions....
I didn't force anything. I did what would logically make sense and what Starfleet WOULD do. Heck, they had a week to repair and they couldn't replicate me some 23rd century uniforms? Ridiculous.
Coding is irrelevant. it could very well be very difficult to code. I'm purely talking about what makes sense the logical course of action. No Starfleet officer would ever NOT disguise themselves in that situation unless they were forced too. However, in this case they weren't. There was plenty of planning time and they knew where the portal was going.

maybe the reason they didnt recognise the TOS uniforms you were wearing is that yours were made of replaicated velour.....TOS era charcters can tell the difference..theres nothing quite like real velour
I didn't even use any weapons ever. Stop over thinking this people. There's no hidden reason why they attacked. It's just not built to handle it. :P
You just answered your own question, the game doesn't work that way.
And can you HONESTLY tell me that if the game DID work that way, where the uniform you get from the C-Store altered the gameplay (in such a way that it might be "required" for an authentic experience) that you wouldn't have been first in line complaining about it?

The truth now.
I mean, if timetravel missions are going to be a common thing, then they should invest in some tech to apply a "temporary" uniform while on a certain map, so that the disguise is automatic and doesn't require you running off to a tailor to mess around.

But its not a huge deal.
I actually liked the commando-style gameplay. Having to sneak past the guards, lying to to workers, etc. I liked it. I hope we see more missions like this where the objective is to get in, do the objectives, and get out without the enemy ever knowing you were there.

I wouldn't be because I got them from a pre-order, not the c-store.
Exclusive content for pre-orders is the norm these days. The c-store would simply be an option for those who didn't pre-order from the right store.
PLUS I believe TOS uniforms were given out for free if you registered at www.massiveonlinegamer.com too.

Oh I liked the gameplay too, I was specifically talking about more timetravel missions, where a "disguise" system might be useful. If they plan to do a lot of them, they could tweak the uniform system to allow for temporary costumes to be applied to a map. Would probably end up with limited customization options though.
As would any system to detect a "proper" uniform, it would be limited to "Are they wearing TOS uniform top and TOS Combadge A, B or C?" if so, then allow response X.
You don't buy it because you don't trust people. It's tied to a pre-order bonus. You can get the uniform for free by signing up at massively (NO COST). There's no reason to hate it.

And I am perfectly fine with them not coding the mission to detect that I did so. I can RP without being hand-held.
I am just saying that if they HAD done it, I feel lots of people would have complained, and I think if you're honest with yourself, you would have joined in.
What if next time its the TNG uniforms, which were collectors edition + C-Store, or Mirror universe? Or the upcoming Enterprise pack?
What if you had to infiltrate a mercenary ship (like Picard did) and the Merc outfit had a benefit? The pile of complained would fill an oil tanker.
Its just not a road that should be traveled down, in my opinion. I like th C-Store, but I don't want to have to put up with the bile it creates in these instances.

I don't think you get it. There was an alternate way to get the TOS uniforms, absolutely FREE. By signing up for a website. There's NO COST.
This is why, being 100% honest with myself, I can say I wouldn't be angry. If you were honest with yourself I think you'd admit you have no idea what you're talking about.
Any talk about future content like that being regulated to C-Store items is irrelevant because the TOS uniforms are not a normal C-Store item. You could get them for free at any time.
Well, I can't dress up my Breen in a TOS uniform and was not able to select my away team.
Does the bug still happen when you copy the char over to tribble? And do new characters do it?
If not, then you need to contact a GM (not a bug report) and have them take a look at your characters database entry. Only older characters have this issue still.

What are you talking about? The Breen BO isn't customizable by default.

Sorry, wasn't clear.
Leviathan is having issues with his away team window, it doesn't let him swap the members that he beams down with. Its an old bug related to updates to the character database some time ago.
I know some people solved it by dismissing some their BOs and recruiting new ones, but that was ages ago when we were new players, doing that to an admiral would be rough.
Comments
Them,"Hold it right there!"
My Diplomacy Option:
"We're the other security team! The intruders ambushed us and took our uniforms!"
Them, "Then why are you dressed like that?"
My option "They left behind their clothes. We had to put on something!
The indruders ambushed us near the Jeffries tube between the turbolift and the control room across the hallway.
WUT!? I thought I was WEARING their uniforms. XP

Did you remember to remove the Price Tag?
Well mission-wise I didn't have problem. Guess they didn't question why Cybernetic Klingons were running around their station during a quarrantine.

Were you using a TOS phaser or a TNG+ era one?

For a discerning captain, make it Santori time.

Sorry, I just don't buy it. if it had been something you personally had to pay for, you'd be angry.
And it would be a valid complaint, which is why its a bad idea to even go down that road.
