How many of you are taking your Connie back in time?

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
This week, in an effort to "blend in," a lot of us changed our costume when we went back in time. So my question is this, how many of you are going to take your Connie back in time to destroy the comet? It'll be harder since you will lose some weapons slots and BOff slots.

But how many of you will do it anyway for RP purposes? (I won't because I don't own it)

Considering I don't know what type of firepower I'll need for the mission I seriously doublt I'll be taking a T1 ship into a T5 battle. :)

I was thinking my G-X too for RP purposes. At least I could cloak so they won't see me. My Excelsior is about 25 years too early.

Just occurred to me that I have a Lt and a LtC who both fly the TOS Connie and the refit, so they at least will.

Sounds like an interesting challenge I will have to try it on Irion my engineer/cruiser RAUH. Too bad the Heavy and battle cruiser captain skills do not work for either the Connie or the Refit. I will try it in the T1 Connie anyways and post some part of my humiliation on YouTube for any interested. Sure, I'm your huckleberry.

My guild dressed up in the TOS costumes for this last episode of the Devidians. I think one of the guys even flew his connie last night. Theres talk of taking Connies and Mirandas into the fight next week. We're looking forward to RPing it all out :D

I'm interested in how that works out. While the weapons themselves will be ranked up, the ships will be kind of frail. I'd love to see a video of the fight if one of you would be so kind as to record it.

If the T1 Constitution Class had 1 more foreward weapon slot and 1 more aft weapon slot, I'd be much more likely to take it.

But as it sits right now, with not enough weapons and not enough bridge officer abilities, it simply is not feasible to fly the TOS Connie beyond about Tier 3.

Otherwise, I would totally switch ships.

Here is hoping that one day we can get a T3 or maybe T3.5 "Retrofit" TOS Connie so we can use it beyond Tier 1, without upsetting the "it's too old to be powerful" crowd.

    Perhaps something like this:

    T3.5 "Retrofit" TOS Constitution Class
Available at Captain rank and above

    Hull: 27500
    Turn: 8 Deg. / Sec.
    Consoles: 2 Eng / 2 Sci / 2 Tac
    Bridge Officers:
    • Lieutentant Commander Engineering
    • Lieutentant Engineering
    • Lieutentant Science
    • Lieutentant Tactical
    Weapons: 3 Fore / 3 Aft
    Crew: 500
    Devices: 3

This setup uses a hybrid model of the Commander T3 Excelsior and the T4 Galaxy Class. The hull would be slightly heavier than an Excelsior (Thus the T3.5 designation) and the Bridge Officer Slots are just a bit less than the Galaxy (Lieutentant Commander Engineer instead of Commander thus the T3.5 Designation). Weapon slots are increased to make the ship viable for upper level use, but not nearly as powerful tactically as a T5 vessel. Even Consoles slots, but without the major advantages a T4 or T5 Cruiser has, and a turn rate that compensates for the lack of hull and consoles for defensive stats.

I think if people had access to a TOS Connie like this, they could still use it for PvE at Vice Admiral and have alot of fun with it, and those who don't want to see the TOS Connie "beating a Sovereign class / Neg'vhar in PvP" likely wouldn't because it simply wouldn't have the staying power to fight a T5 Vice Admiral ship.

    Everyone wins!

I won't since blending in does nothing at all and it acts as though you don't anyways.

This is meant for RP purposes. And to add a bit of a challenge since the ship is obviously ill-equipped. No one here is under the illusion that the ship is going to actually do anything beyond that.

I'm considering it, though I might still go in my Excelsior. Afterall, who said we'd run into the Enterprise or other famous ships from that era? :D

    I don't see why not. Just say you're running a "prototype" ;)

I wore my Original Series Uniform when I ran mine, and I was asked by the NPC, (Something to the affect of...) why I was not dressed in uniform... Say what?!?!?

My alt's away team consisted of one liberated Borg Captain, one liberated Borg Engineer, and one Bajoran Scientist. NONE of which were known to this time period....

My main's consisted of a Human Captain, a liberated Borg Engineer, and an Andoran Tactical Officer; so at least it was closer to being covert.

My current main was a Hologram (alien race) captain so I was able to blend right in with the crew :P my Vulcan and Andorian crewmates were a little out of place with regards to uniform but that was easily overlooked :P

I'll be giving it a try. I did the same with the guardian of forever mission way back when.

I just wish the game would recognise things like this.

I'll probably do this with my Tactical captain since his crew is already in uniform. I went ahead and re-equipped his TOS Consitution before I did this week's. I might bring my refit on my main since it's my favorite and my pink Excelsior on one of my science captains. My Klingon captain is already in the D7 for Comdr. rank so I'm set there.

I have two current mains, Dequuch (KDF) and Zekeah, a Starfleet officer who happens to be a Romulan/Klingon hybrid (Alien). Dequuch has yet to run the mission so I will have to tweak him a uniform, but Zekeah ran it with a group of other captains who were mostly dressed for the period. I chose to go in a merc outfit as there were no Klingons, Romulans, or their mixed offspring in Starfleet back in that era.

Debating on what ship to use for the next mission, may dust off my Miranda for a challenge.

I'll give it a run on Tribble first in my Constitution before I go running head long into a death trap on the Holo. If I can get away with it I'll be willing to join up with others out there just for the fun of running nothing but Constitutions on the mission.

I did that too, and I laughed for about a minute. Though I'm probably going to take my Sovvie (the timeline is already screwed up thanks to a Mr. Abrams) or my Excelsior, when replayable missions come out, I might just take the old Connie out for a spin, see how far I can go (and put difficulty on normal). It'll be fun. Also, I love how Drake says he's trying to find a way to go back in time, when there is a way that basically EVERYONE knows about. The slingshot effect. I have to say Section 31 is really going into the toilet lately isn't it?

But you don't own a Kia of Prey previously owned by Doc Brown...

I'll be taking my Defiant for 3 reasons:

Cloak: Cant blend in much better than that xD
Firepower and health: I am pretty sure that we are going to meet some "
