I know this has been discussed several times, so please excuse the repeated topic....
I'm still not clear on wheither or not and how consoles stack. I use phaser-based weapons (cannons and beams), and have a Phaser Relay console and a Directed Energy Distribution Manifold. Do these consoles compliment each other, or does one override the other?
If they compliment each other, or stack, then does this mean if I use two Phaser Relays I double the benefit?
How many can you stack? For example, can I use three or four phaser relays and gain any benefit, or is there a level of dimishing returns?
You can stack consoles, however your current setup is probably the best way to do it. The thing to look for is what the Console modifies, the Phaser Relay and the Directed Energy Distribution Manifold modify Phasers and Beam Weapons respectively, and since they modify different things they both give their full bonus, whereas two consoles that modify the same thing will suffer from diminished returns.

Thanks in advance for any and all answers!
No worries, try to do a search for the answers first (there is a little tool near the top of the forums) but when in doubt do not hesitate to ask.
All consoles stack linearly (except the +35% shield strength console). This means that 2 consoles that have +26 phasers weapons will give you a net gain of +52 phaser weapons. Armor consoles also stack linearly, but the formula for counting resistance % is different and because of that they will show diminishing returns.
Yes, you can use any number of Phaser Relays to gain the full benefit of all of them.
You may stack any number and you will see a straight linear increase in performance. For example, if the first console added 5 dps, the second console will also add 5 dps (for a net gain of 10 dps). It is important once again to differenciate armor consoles from other consoles due to the different formula (I'll fish it up and edit this post)
Meh, I'll just quote the whole post with armor consoles;
The bottom line of how hull resistance works is this basic formula: 1 - (1 / (1 + (<armor>/100) )) That gives damage resistance expressed as a decimal.
If you have multiple consoles and powers (say +15, +21 and +30 vs Phaser Damage resistance), you all them all together and plug 'em in the equation.
All personal armor and hull damage resistances work this way. And that's how diminishing returns comes into place. In order to get an addition +X% more damage resistance. You have to increase the value <armor> by an even larger amount.
For example, 25 armor points will net you 20% damage resistance. Adding +25 armor points (50 total) doesn't increase the damage resistance to 40% but to 33.34%. To reach 40% damage resistance, you need a total of 66.66 total armor points.
Shield Damage Resistance buffs are strictly additive +10% is X% + 10% more damage resistance.

Huh, I was under the impression that stacked consoles suffered from diminished returns.

nope, from zero consoles add a single console then see the amount the variable changed. Then from 1 console add a second console and see the amount the variable changed.
The numerical boost you get from a console will be the same, regardless of whether it is the first or fourth console added.
So........its not a bad thing to have 3 of the same thing?
innuendos aside, nope. More specialization in favor of more power in one system. 3 SIF generator consoles and 3 halon system consoles is one of the keys for healing in a backline cruiser. Same deal with 4 phaser relays for heavy phaser weapon damage.
