That is Star Trek my friends, THAT is STAR TREK. I feel like all my whining paid off.

Why?
  • You set your phasers to stun. Bonus!
  • You get the option of evading teams instead of just shoot to thrill. That's trek.
  • Lots of hardware jargon and manipulation.
  • Cameo by old Trek stalwart McCoy. Awww yeah. The dialog was very McCoy as well.
  • Lots of scientific details. Loved recalibrating the tricorder. Very trek.
  • Manipulating parts and having to follow instructions.
  • Loved the layout of the ship, a better use of graphic objects, not just generically placed.
  • Also enjoyed the BOFF dialogue pop ups instead of dialogs you have to dismiss.
  • Temporal rifts and time travel open up A LOT of doors for cool missions.

It just seems like you FINALLY let some who's watched the show build a mission.

Well done, although not as intense as the last one, still in the same vein of trekitude and another great template . I didn't miss the lack of ship to ship pew pew at all.

I loved the the 23rd century interiors. I also got a big kick out of the compare and contrast of the old beat up Drozna and the shiny new Drozna.

Loved the 23rd Century station, wish we could see it from space all K7 style and brand spanking new, next week maybe? Drake mentioned taking a ship back to the 23rd century...

I loved the addition of Bones and thought this mission was brilliant, authentic and interesting. Truly a great representation of classic trek, Can't wait for next week's mission.

Yeah! This mission was "The Real McCoy" for sure! :)

I enjoyed the TOS interiors and sounds. Not sure if this episode gave much progress towards TOS Bridges but certainly towards a TOS Engineering Room.

I also enjoyed using diplomacy to get past objectives and tricks like locking a security team in a room!

The character artists did a great job on the Bones NPC. Any dev care to comment about likeness rights? Did you have to obtain them from his family or is it no longer necessary since DeForest Kelley is deceased?

I thought the BEST Enterprise episode was the one where you went into the TOS bridge even if it was a different ship.

Why can't the TV people be smart enough to just redo TOS?

As a licensee, we were able to talk directly with CBS over including Bones in this week's episode.

Ahh awesome! Hope to see more of this in the future. It's one of the major things I think STO is missing.

Yeah, I really enjoyed this episode as well. The use of McCoy was nicely done, and the entire mission was fun.

I have one question though. If we are going to go back in time to destroy the comet next week, how will that affect the Deferi and their previous dialogues with us? If we destroy it in the 23rd Century, then it won't be making it's trip in the 25th Century.

Then again, like Janeway said, "Oh, the almighty Temporal Prime Directive take my advice. It's less of a headache if you just ignore it. " :D

I think a few nice touches would be
    • Some reading when you take data from the tricorder but more voice overs when there is a bunch of dialogue.
    • Allow the boffs to create aggressive or passive diversions to move groups away from areas you want to access.
    • Use timers to add real drama to puzzles that need to be solved or the mission fails or you take mondi damage.
    • Add the Sulaban. Their ships look a lot like borg spheres anyway and they were always messing with the tim

This was a really good hands on mission. Even better than the Deferi one where you had to talk to the Breen and help the patients.

Janeway sucks, she always broke the rules when she wanted to and expected others to obey them when she wanted them to.

Opening a temporal rift is a great way to explore A LOT of ideas. It frees the writers up from having to tie everything in with what has happened or is happening. I would suggest exploring all the things that were too expensive to do on the show, like Klingon, Vulcan, Andorian history and pivotal battles. That would be fun.

Sisko didn't break any rules. He merely raised his pimp hand and the rules broke themselves trying to get out of his way.

That explains Cardassia. It wans't a Klingon genocide: it was Sisko laying down the law.

The episode was great. I liked the transition from old run down drozana to bright new drozana. The constant option of going diplomatic or combat was also nice It even looked like there was a class specific response to mccoy during one of his convo's.

About the only thing i didn't like, and this is kinda stretching it really, was that i specifically wore the TOS uniforms for this mission so as not to mess with the temporal prime directive and there was atleast one convo in there where an npc mentioned that my team wasn't wearing uniforms even though they were. (which made the convo seem odd "Lieutenant!!! some other crewmen beat us unconscious and we woke up naked with their uniforms beside us!!!")

Just wish the Klingons could shoot him. :)

Oh ... and wish Klingons had gotten some sort of old school disruptor beam instead of old (from connie) phaser.

I thought it was a very nice mission too. McCoy being there was quite a surprise - I didn't expect it'd be him! - and seeing the Drozana dungeon crawl turn out into a neat/clean 'state-of-the-art' mirror of its future self with matching map layouts was something I found awesome.

I also appreicated - like mentioned above - having the options to use more finesse and not have to blast through. Getting an accolade for my trouble was pretty darned sweet.

The mission reward was nice. Scaling phaser beam arrays are awesome. I won't use it because I don't really like the TOS retro stuff over TNG-style phaser beam arrays - but I think a lot of people will enjoy that.

I wondered about the uniform thing, I just went in my normal outfit. It would have been cool if they had given us temporary uniforms of some sort, like the flashlight from last week, that would have felt more Trek/Temporal Prime Directive.

If i ignore the uber lame reward this episode was pretty cool.

The Interrior had a good TOS vibe, i didn't dig all the colors though, red would have been good enough for me!
    green? *brrr*

The Females in TOS uniform did wear the OLD TOS uniform. not the epic remade one -.-

When i ran into the first TOS squad i ran into the room where i was supposed to trap THEM and closed the door from the inside... nothing happened, they didn't break in and they didn't walk away.
So i waited and waited... i had to open the door and stun them with my Bat'leth :D

    I don't think that was intended ^^

    Bones was cool.

What wasn't cool.... another MEDICAL puzzle.
    SERIOUSLY???
That is the 3rd medic puzzle in 2 Weekly Series so far.
    ENOUGH ALLREADY!!!!
    ...I AM NOT DR. HOUSE!

I realy start to understand now why the general public hated the techno babbel in TNG so much.

I succeeded on the first try but i realy didn't want to do it.
    I have McCoy right there...
let me do the scanning and he does the thinking.
NO i have to do the thinking.
    WHY?
I even brought my EMH officer with me... *sigh*

This was like math with Letters... X = left spinning Neutrino's + -70mV something... ... WHAT?

    ....
    after that?

uhm i had to jump onto a console to press F, that was kinda stupid and should be fixed (unless that was intended?).

and when the mission was over i stood in front of Bones and got the "Beam Up" window, shouldn't i have walked back to the timeportal first? no?
oh btw. timeportal, how about a mechanic that i actually need to walk / fly into those portals instead of pressing F yet again? Guardian of Forever? Press F! *sigh*

    and then ->
"Beam up to ship?" [YES] -> not beaming but zoning to Drozana -> "Beam up to ship" -> YES PLEASE -> Warp Out -> finish -> get worst reward ever -> go to forum start flaming....

    and that was my day.

Yeah, I had a feeling it was going to be Spock or Kirk or maybe even Chekov when we all saw Mcoy half the people in TS went "Oh hell yeah! Its Bones!" I Especially loved the "Im a doctor, not a engineer" line made me laugh.

The mission was simply great, it even had TOS style hand phaser beam effects.:D (Thank god I ran into the security team, it would have been a shame to miss that.) There is only one thing that bothers me.... The reward. What am I supposed to do with a single TOS style phaser bank on my starship? Getting one of the hand phasers would have been better.

    I completely enjoyed this episode!

The visit back to Drozana during it's heyday was EXCELLENT!

The mission was fun, the interiors were far better than I could have ever hoped for, and the puzzles were good. I really enjoyed the "diplomatic" options to avoid conflict, and the "knock out Ensign" option.

What a joy to get to interact with Dr. McCoy as well! Loved it!

The only 2 critiques I had, is I wish we could have outfitted TOS Hand Phasers for the mission. I've wanted to see these as an option for a long time, and this would have been the perfeect opportunity to use them. Sadly, it is not to be. Also, for those Klingons who wish to play in the TOS era, it is impossible to change your appearance to be more human like, to match TOS era Klingons. That's kind of a bummer, because I enjoyed outfitting my away team in TOS uniforms and trying to "blend in" with the era.

But, overall, a very enjoyable experience.

Furthermore, I hope the art on this mission will go towards furthering the cause of a TOS ship interior for players. Many people want this, and the art on this mission was so good, it made me really want a TOS era interior for my Constitution Class ship.

    Great job guys!

too bad the TOS Uniform is a C-Store & Pre Order item, or it could have been forced on the player to disguise yourself in TOS style.

I liked the medical puzzles. It wasn't even that hard you just had to pay attention. I thought that was GREAT. I liked the granularity of the information we had to asses to get it right. WOW!!!!

Totally awesome! You could even extend that to ancient languages. Take a look at some ancient alien inscription and compare it to your database and figure out what the clues are to move to the next part of the mission. Like at the Breen temple, that was a neat puzzle where you had to move your boffs in the right order to get the star chart to come up. Nifty! :D

I dont see why everyone is up in arms in how good it was.. really wasnt that great.

Puzzle were alright, but to be honest not that challenging.

Mission was short and the reward item, isnt it given if you get the cstore connie...

I liked the previous mission way better. Voice over work would of been nice but obviously impossible since the actor had passed away quite sometime ago. Another medical challenge.. *yawn* same thing with the devidian series.

I liked the layout of the station. But iam not TOS lover so meh

Overall... could of been done way better.
