An exception to the rule

Normally I would support keeping a feature in closed beta if it was very buggy...then when it was
mostly bug free, send it to tribble.

I think Foundry should be the exception.

Justification:

Foundry in a complicated feature and the more testers finding bugs, the quicker it will get better.
also
It is going to take a while for the 'testers' to even learn the feature enuff to know what is a bug
and what is just an error by the writer.
Just be sure to state 'in tribble' that the foundry is bugged and you want the folks in tribble to help
you track them down.

Ya, should already be a given but sometimes players need reminding.

I think ST players are used to bugs; and 50,000 eyes are better then 50? 150? 500? :)

Still, it's been understood for some time that the Foundry isn't really launching with Season 3; though we might see Open Beta on Tribble around Season 3.

    Sorry doesnt work like that.

It has to stay in a closed, limited Beta state until it is stable enough. They have to make sure that most of the showstopper bugs that could result in catastrophic loss of data or extended downtime from crashes and corruption are out before its revealed to a larger user-base.

Just going to have to be patient.

(Note, my post is theoretical. I am not a beta tester and have no knowledge of the actual state of the closed beta, I am talking "in general")

Maybe reservation is made to contain expectations, assure a minimum of stability, and a robust enough framework for larger scale testing. Add to that the possibility of having to disable popular parts, or pull something entirely.

There are many reasons, but have we not learned that rushing anything at any stage, is a sure recipe for trouble. There is a system to this madness, a short-cut leads to sadness. :p
