Hello, I would like to see other factions on STO. I like the Cradassions and extra. You could have people to pay for it make it buy able thought the C-store and could make extra money on charter slots.

It doesn't have to been though the c-sore I just thought there would be a better chance to get it if they put it though the c-sore to cover the cost it will take to do so.

Judging from what Cryptic said regarding them holding off in adding the Romulans until the Klingons are more fleshed out, the same can be said for a fourth faction. In which they won't be added until the Romulans are all squared away.

So afraid you might have a bit of a wait. :(

I'm pretty sure future factions will be released as a C-Store unlock to (at least partially) return the investments that went into their development, along with the standard subscriptions.

That being said, it seems to be clear that the Romulans are first on the list, though Cardassians have a good chance of being next in line. Either way, it's going to be some time (I'd say at least 2 years, judging from previous comments). But they're coming. :)

What species would that faction consist of? If all the characters have the same small pool of traits, then it is not that useful. Besides, they are an enemy faction with very little indepth development. Their primary goal is sowing the seeds of discord. While the plots may be deep, complex and lengthy, the species as a whole is rather one sided. Federation, Klingon, Romulan, Dominion, and Cardassians show much more variety and complexity. In esscene, they have many facets. The Undine are nearly monolithic. Much like the Borg that they despise so much.

I am not that picky on which factions comes out first but I do believe that adding another one in less other two years would be a good ideal. Because with the user generated content coming out this would give story lines to the races and maybe they want have a hard time impending them after they come out as the polish them.

Read the "needs of the many" cryptics book... were going to war with them... i'd rather fight for them than for the feds.

P.s Never.. ever put the spoon heads in a good light.

I did read that book. It is the rambelings of a political hack who thinks he is a novelist. Even that book supports the notion that the Undine are one sided and mostly monolithic.

Gul Macet in "The Wounded" was both the typical and aytipical Cardassian. He was career driven, and a patriot to the state. He was also honorable and displayed integrity, something few few other cardassians did. Glinn Daro, his subordinate admitied to O'Brien that they had made egregious errors in the past, and wanted to repair the relations between the Union and the Federation. Garak is another, almost mirror of Macet. Garak was underhanded, decieveing and coniving. He was loyal to his people, but not always to the state. He would work with Romulans, Humans, and Klingons both for and against other Cardassians.

I do not care much for cardassians, but I do recognize that they are not monolithic, and have many differing personnalities and agends, some which conflict with each other.

Back to my original point, what PvE missions would their be? The Undine are a villian species. Being one sided "moster race" and having no indepth development, it would hardly qualify as a player faction. WIth many players complaining about the precieved lack of PvE for the Klingons, you are hard pressed to convince those players that the Undine would be a viable player faction. Better to focus energy on a facction such as the Dominion since there are many different species and agendas. A group like them or the Romulans would give better returns on replayability and customer satisfaction.

(which require you to use the drug to maintain your appearence)
    Blowing up Vulcan
Missions that involes slaughtering the federation and klingons for missing the whole "stay out of fluidic space" thing

Gelki Hunting? That would most likely be a repetable mission. A "boring and repetative grinding" mission.

Missions against the borg would also be more repetative griding missions, unless each had a long and complex chain of plots, which is not likely against an enemy that responds to threats with overwhelming force.

Infiltration missions might work, but again repetative grind missions, and when going "deep cover", one must stay undercover for long periods of time with very few chances for spectacular action or mission xp that is typical for RPGs.

The destruction of Vulcan would be a single misson, while good, is over and done when at high levels.

Wholesale slaughter of Feds and Klingons would be another set of "grind" missions.

In closing, I am not against grinding, but most of the other players in this game are. Unless you can come up with something more exciting and unique than the Klingons, you will end up dissapointing a lot of people, and the pay off from the energy invested would be minimal.

Their all a grind and repetative regardless how you look at it.
    -STF
    -Deep space encoutners
    -An alt
    -Diplomacy stuff
    -Crafting
    - Nebula runs

Something more unique than the klingons you say? :O hmmm Klingons have their carriers... Rommies will most likely get the Scimitar... so the bioship with super lazor of death ... then again that could be a close comparison to the Scimitar... maybe a carrier just to wind up the feds... ship wise i have no idea.. thats the devs problem.

Ground wise you could have the Infiltration missions. For the Undine STF variants... they could either edit the current STF to suit them..

Infected - Defeat the Federation forces on starbase 82
The Cure - Defeat the Federation/Klingon/Borg forces on whatever the planet was called
Khitomer accord - ... **** uhhh Destroy the Borg in the ######## system.
Terradome - Recapture the Terradome from Federation/Klingon Forces.
