Ground Combat: Yep I am beating the dead horse..the poor thing

Ok all I got to say is has somone sneak beefed up the ground combat beyond what it already was?

I just loffed off after tring to do several ground mission. I like elite but I don't mind ground combat so I play on advanced because we all know what elite ground combat is. Well it seems Advanced has gotten just as bad. 3 weeks ago I could do ground combat on advanced and be challenged but ultimatley succeed. Today I wiped three times on a Borg unit and twice on a Zantil unit. The Borg were 7 to 5 to start with with two Heavy Tacticals and several medics. They kept beamin in replacements. It wasn't 7 on 5 it was more like 15 on 5. So I gave up.

Next I enountered the Zantil. Figured ok the first were Borg after all...these should be easier. Nope not even close. Wiped again on the first group. So I decided to stealth the mission since all I really had to do wa scan some rocks. Well bypassed the first group but the rock was in the middle of the second group so I sent my Boffs off to die while I was going to go for the rock. I got caught so I ran. Litteral 4 shots from them took down my shields, and killed me. Come on this isn't a challenge....itt's a blasted slaughter.

I feel better now having vented my frustrations.

    I fare well against the well-known species like Borg and the Spoon-Heads on advanced. But if Starlians, Crimto, and Frog-Knows what they're all called should appear, they start to two-shot you, before you have chance to get behind some cover. I'm probably a TRIBBLE player, but it's odd how well it goes against the more familiar species compared to the random wrinkly-heads. :p

    Hell yeah keep beating the horse! I'm serious, when a single Nausicaan Heavy Marine can one shot your entire team at Lt Cmdr level as a tactical officer with all the points put into ground abilities, spamming knockdowns and such, carrying 2 sci with maximum healing powers available, an engi with shield recharges and turrets, and another tact with all the knockdown/control available to them, the horse needs to be beaten until this is fixed! FIX THE STUPIDLY BROKEN GROUND COMBAT!

    Seriously, this has become enough of a problem for me I will be unsubscribing after this is fixed. There is about 2 weeks left on my account and Cryptic is not getting another dime of my money until they fix the bugs (anything full auto it seems like), stupidly high health, and insane damage of ground NPC's. Your whole team being one shotted doesn't equal fun!

    Enough with the silly little content and C-Store additions until the completely broken mechanics are fixed already! I don't care if the people working on them are different, if they can't afford to hire more developers to fix bugs and broken mechanics, then they need to let some content people go until they can.

    I'm sure there will be plenty of people popping in to say "L2P" or "It's fine for me" or "Use tactics", and all i can say is, there is no tactic you can possibly use that defeats a one shot AOE attack. Tactics require time to actually DO something, the currently uber-broken ground combat often does not allow for any time to do ANYTHING except wait for your respawn timer to run out.

    I'm fed up with it myself.

    In my other posts I think I called them "Breh" when I think the actual name I was looking for was "Dref".

    The 'Dref Commander' can one shot my whole away team, and there is absolutely no difference between 'Elite' and 'Advanced' difficulty, they are both instant wipes.

    I went back and tried tooling through some lower level cluster missions to clean out my mission log and ran into the same type of problems. I can only play on 'Normal' for ground missions now and it's not just B'Tran but rather, any cluster ground missions.

    This is not "challenging" this is insanity wrapped in frustration.

    I am so bored with space combat on the 'normal' setting, so I'm always running 'elite' or 'advanced' for my space combat, but then I keep getting strings of ground missions.

    Scan this, access that, and oh by the way here's some mobs in between that will insta-kill you.

    As I've said before, I don't mind getting my tail handed to me now and again, but this is far from that.

    It seems to have happened last week with the arrival of the last devidian episode, the same patch that gave us these terrible run and sprint animations. Since that patch I have had nothing but instant wipes on anything but 'normal' in ground cluster missions.

    I've made a couple posts, even filed a bug report about it, the only dev response I've heard was one saying he had tweaked some mobs to be more difficult (by making them do more damage) but he only 'adjusted' the Breen and Dividians etc. not the ones we're talking about.

    Well something happened.

    I'm currently on my 7th or 8th attempt to take down a group of Dref on a random Nebula mission. Good grief!

    Just fought the Jem'Hadar, they were challenging, but not insane like the Dref. No one or two shotting with them. I want to steal the Dref's weaponry. lol
