The Klingon Faction has gotten some love lately, not as much as they need, but some.
The Klingon Faction has highly maneuverable DPS machines, both BoP and Raptors fill that niche nicely.
Cruisers, from the K'Tanco to the Negh'Var, slow, ponderous, but, well, they're tanks.
And while I doubt we're going to get a new class of ships to fill the middle ranges of maneuverability, hull, or shield strengths, we should at least get ship costumes to fill out customization options.
Alternate ship skins for Lt. Com. & Com. ships of all types, as well as the Captain level BoP and Raptors. There are legal reasons why designs from other Star Trek games aren't available. However, I seem to remember a dev posting a few months back that ship skins aren't very hard to make, it's new ships, and the mechanics that go along with them, and require testing, that are difficult.
As to the Fed ship, that's more long term. We've got a new Cruiser/Science ship at T3 and T5, I think we should give the Science ship fans and Escorts a little more love, a Science/Escort hybrid, either the Oberth Class, or the Ambassador Class, either one could believably have these stats.
To comply with the Treaty of Algeron, the ability of the Phase technology to hide the visual and electromagnetic signature of the ship has been purposefully inhibited. (The ship can "phase" temporarily, ignoring collisions and kinetic damage for 45 seconds, however, energy weapons still affect it). This power does not allow the ship to pass through planetary bodies, but it will pass through asteroids, debris, and other ships with ease. If the ship is still phased within an object when it unphases, it takes 5000 kinetic damage and is immediately shunted into vacant space.

Ambassador Special Ability: Deflector Blast.
A high-frequency resonance burst from the main deflector is fired in a cone in front of the ship (the same targeting zone of Dual Heavy Cannons) dealing 11,576 energy damage, or ~1,360 DPS. The ability functions for 3 seconds, with a two minute cool-down.
I must admit, I would like to see an Ambassador - Class as it's the only class of Enterprises that hasn't been created (as we are getting the NX soon, and I won't bother counting the Abrahms one).
I'm in two minds with these retrofits: On the one hand I haven't been that impressed with any of the non-canon federation ships in Star Trek Online, and on the other the only ships that can be used now are the older ones which aren't that interesting.
If I were to choose an escort to retrofit, it would be the Yeager Class (which due to the intrepid saucer section could be the Escort/Science hybrid). Not sure what they could use for a special ability as it was mainly in the background shots.
I think the best way for them to go at this point is to make every class have a tier 5 refit, each with its own unique stats. This would provide a more diverse fleet in both factions and allow players to fly the ships they really want to. Theres no reason why a Nova class couldn't be decked out with the same armament as an Intrepid, sure its about half the size but ingame we are limited to very small armament.

I don't know why it wasn't added as a Variant to the Galaxy class? There's probably a size difference?
